ok so ice gear is pretty limited up in our neck of the woods
so i usually order what i need which sucks sometimes cuz it limites
my oppertunity to experment
so what i would like to know from all the other fine IS member
is if you had to choose one lure/jig to take on the ice for perch what would it be
-
Just one eh?
I always have a jigging rap size 2 tied on to one rod (tipped with various plastics)
-
If I could only have 1 item it wiould be a simple hook and use whatever as bait until I caught the first one, then it's eyeballs all the way
-
Just one would be a slab grabber spoon with a red bead. I have caught an alot of perch on these.

I can never just limit myself to just one, but my top three would be.
Jig'N Rap size 2
Forage minnow spoon one of each size
some plain round head jigs tipped with live bait, pieces of it, or some plastics.
-
Gold Genz worm tipped w/ a red maggot. Then, replace the maggot w/ an eye from the first of the many Perch you will be catching.
-
I would have to say a white pimple. Even when my friends were struggling to get bit with jigs and bait or plastic my pimple with 1/2 a minnow was a producer last season and has always been a go to bait for me.

thanx for the feed back so far everyone keep it coming
so far its looking like a size 2 Jig'N Rap is going on the list

Lindy rattlespoon 1/8 perch glow

Techni-Glo Frostee

Charlie's Chompin Bead Spoon in red/white with either a white or red bead. to find these lures try typing "Russia Hooks" on ebay. His screen name there is Capt. Minnow. I hardly ever even touch bait anymore. Once in a while I put a short piece of red yarn on the hook just tied in place and cut to about 1/4 inch on either side of the hook. It flops and flutters during the jigging sequence. What it imitates is anybody's guess, but the perch must think it is food. ;D

Frostee in glow perch.

Jiggin' Rap size 2 for sure.

Silver 1/10oz Swedish Pimple.

-
Shiener are you confused yet. A hali jig tipped with what ever would be my choice or a red and white bibit. Somdays a #4 hook with a ninnow works pretty good to.

and order some in a few different colors
so keep im coming guys and thanx for the feed back so far

Swedish pimple!

I have used most of the above, but the sizes mentioned wouldn't work well in the deep waters I fish... look at Swedish pimple #3, jigging rap #3 or even a #5.
