Title: Favorite jigs for perch/gills
Post by: catskills on Jan 31, 2019, 06:04 AM
Hey guys, long time fisherman here, first time on hard water. I am putting together a short shopping list to get supplies for this weekend.  I am looking for some recommendations on jigs.  Do you guys put mealworms or add any sort of live bait to them?  Also, who is successful with and without some sort of flasher/sonar unit?

I like to use hali-jigs tipped with spikes. If you are not using sonar, try jigging them about a foot off the bottom. WIth sonar its like shooting fish in a barrel. My best hali-jig colors are blue and white glow,  green perch, and rainbow colored.

thank you! I am going to try without the sonar first, but if I do want to get one after this weekend, what to you use?
