Hi guys, Dave from northern MN checking in. I'm fortunate enough to call LOW my local fishery. Heading out there again this weekend to host a trip for some old friends.

Hoping the bite turns on with the stabile weather.

Something clever here.

So I technically live in Fargo, but have fished MN waters my whole life.  Fished the BLA growing up and now trying to learn the DL area the last couple years.  Can I be considered a MN member?

Hello.
My name is Brian, Live in Golden Valley, I travel a lot outside the metro area just to catch the big crappies in the winter, I live a mile away from Medicine Lake, which is fun to go and catch crappies, but they are small.
Friday night and Saturday night fishing was good, caught 8 good crappies both nights, all were around 10+ inches, the largest was 11.5 inches at 15 ozs., and yes it did taste good, just got done eating that one.

That's about perfect eating size....

I was gonna say mmmmmm breakfast crappies but realized  it is almost noon! :o

You gave me an idea though. How about a poached crappie, onion, and broccoli omelette? Ohhhhhhh I may have to try that!

Hey, all.

I am new to this site, but not new to the ice game. I live in St. Francis and spend most of my time on The Pond, east side baby!!!! I am not a true guru by any means but I am willing to share what little I do know.

P.S. this seems like a great site.

BTW be careful how you post pics. blurring the BG only works if you turn off the GPS tracker in your phone. I am just sayin, I can see most of ya's fishin' spots.

I know this will piss off some, but most will not figure it out anyhow, just like a good fishing spot. Anyway, glade to be here.

I hash that out at least once per year, mostly with iphone users. Turn the GPS OFF on your phone unless you like parasites stuck to you.

There are some REAL JERKS out there. Getting fishing spots from stealing GPS cords is unsportsman like and done by the highest order of  SLOBS on the water. Unfortunately, many guys who consider themselves big shots are nothing but masterful parasites. They ave no ability to find the fish, they use YOU for that.

Being a trunk sneak is absolutely unnecessary wit the amount of people on the ice, especially with panfish. These people will haul them out in buckets until the last ones are gone.

Welcome ctisdell Chris things are slow here on Ice Shanty this time of year. If you do any open water fishing check out the sister site My Fish Finder. Many people are members of both sites. If you have questions post them someone will attempt to answer them for you.

Hi Everyone,

my name is Brad. I live in Monticello. I fish a select number of the Wright County lakes and a few in Stearns County. I mainly fish for Bluegill, Crappies, & Channel Catfish when ice fishing. I do limited Northern fishing too with tip ups about once a season.  I have been ice fishing since I was liitle and still do  (except I did take a 8 year break from all fishing when I lived in southern minnesota, interests changed during that time). I am involved with various outdoors websites but mainly spend my time on this site and one other.  I was asked to join Clam's pro staff as a Power Stick this year  and I accepted. It's been a good experience so far and I have gotten to meet a lot of nice people from with in the industry. I am so glad to have the chance to keep learning new things and gain a broader and greater knowledge from these people. I always say no matter who you are you can always learn more and expand your knowledge.
Fishing is not a hobby it is a way of life

I started ice fishing in 2013. My favorite lake has been Bebee and Eagle out in Monticello. Looking at reviews for purchasing a locator.
