Hey Larry, I can’t wait to try that combo out you gave me but not just because that rod feels great but the reel is a league above every cheapo that I have on my other ice rods.
I prefer a 2oz sinker for perch...when it hits 'em they won't feel a thing

It’s a great combo, Chris! Best of luck with it.🎣

The shoreline is pretty trashed in most places. The first spot I tried I wasn't able to get on. The first 50 yds or so is pretty sketchy. After that the ice was still decent but there's lots of spooky looking wet spots. I was finally able to get out for probably my last time and ended the season with a double limit. Perch were comitting suicide when I left today.

I've been on the last 2 evenings. The main ice is solid but those usual hazzard spots are scetcky. Some of the cracks are wide open.

We should make it to at least the walleye closer.

I fished off the south shore yesterday. Shore was soft and a little broken up but got on with my 18 inch boots. Main ice was about 14 inches and still solid. Got 15 perch and lost a walleye in the hole. Nice day. The shore looks like it is the limiting factor going forward? The storm today and Saturday will make things interesting. Cold temps on Sunday. Warmer highs next week.

Fished off the beach last night from 3-6:30 for probably the last dance of the year. Was a beautiful warm night I won’t forget. Chatted with the dude flying his ultra lite plane around . Shoreline was spotty as most have mentioned, ice was a little better than I expected. Majority of the marks were in 20-24 for. 2 keeper eyes a few shorts ,really had to work the eyes and 5 perch, all on small moonshine glow in brown. Hopefully can make it out again. Humbling year. Thanks for all the reports.

Hit the beach and fished from 8-12 today. Ended up with a limit of eyes and a dozen perch. Tossed back a few smaller perch and 4 additional keeper eyes. The eyes were all on the bigger side. Ice was in decent shape with the exception of the shoreline. My last trip of the season. Good luck to anyone venturing out from here on out.

Good job to everyone who caught some fish!!🎣 Josh and I fished out of the north shore today…. Shoreline is a wreck getting on the ice. We managed to get on and spud our way out to where we fished. Lots of open spots 100 yards or so from shore. After that it was much better. 8-9” of ice where we were. We had a good day with fish and a better day weather wise. Today is our last trip on Oneida ice. The weather that is predicted to hit our area is going to cover up bad spots, cracks and gas holes…. If you guys venture out this weekend…. A spud and common sense goes a long ways!!! Be safe everyone!!!😎🎣

I and goon fished a little northern ice was 14”s but the integrity wasn’t good but the bite was pretty good , fish ranged from 9 and the longest was 14” for the goon , which I measured  ;)

The snow will most likely hide anything that was visible yesterday. I saw quite a few open water spots and cracks on the ice while walking out.

I snuck on the ice off the north shore this morning.

Limit of eaters, 7 perch, and a surprise!
My first Atlantic through the ice.

I quit at 9:30.

Probably my last sunrise on the ice this season.
