Nice catch CW88..... Wife and I went off Sylvan Beach today. 1st time on the lake. 4 flags, 3 drops after 5', run and 1 stolen minnow. Anyone here can maybe give fish that would drop after 5'??????? we actually drilled 4' - 5' of ice..... I think the ice broke up earlier and wedged beneath each other. Bottomed out my auger…. Thoughts???

That's exactly what happened.. wind broke up main lake and pushed ice sheets up to beach end...

Went out of Lewis today for the first time.  Brought home 8 nice perch and 2 eyes, threw back a handful of small eyes and a 3 or 4 that were just under legal.  I brought a monster eye to the hole and lost it as it was coming out of the hole.  Needless to say I spent the rest of my time on the ice with a soaking wet left arm up to the shoulder and my neighbors learned some new words.  Nice day to be out!!!!

Nice fish guys!!  A group of us got out this evening for the first time this winter and landed on some willing fish.  We found approx 5-6 inches of ice everywhere we checked. There were a few sketchy cracks around. Saw a few machines out but I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with them just yet. Felt good to be on the hard-water again. Go Cuse!!

Walked out and fished off north shore yesterday afternoon. Slow bite where I was and not a lot of fish.
Caught 1 keeper afternoon, then second keeper at dark. 3 perch.
not a monster, but here is my first keeper

Got out for a couple hrs yesterday and this morn, couldn't find any active fish. There is a bad heave that follows the Oneida creek bar from just east of Lewis Pt headed east for a long ways. Be careful around it ,it got pretty wet on my way in.

Ice varied from 5 to as much as  10. I spent 2 full days, Friday and Saturday. Got limits of walleye but not much in the way of perch.  Overall pretty slow for first ice but nice to be out.

Fishing was slow enough that I won't be going back to either place I fished. I'll be exploring next week some more.

Question re: Lewis Point.  When you fish “Lewis Point” where do you park?  It looks like Verona Beach State Park is the closest public land to it and not too far of a walk.  Or is there a better location?   Thanks!

Otto if you head to lewis point parking get there early place fills up fast. Already they are parking in front of no parking signs and crossing private property. Same situation every year.
