IMO not safe at Lewis. No one has been out, lots of wet spots and shoves. friend of mine walked out at Messengers spud went thru 1 wack. 5 degrees lake needs time.

Someone had a snow dog out there yesterday...

Nice reports on here, so much better than any other site I've been on. I was planning to spud out and check the south shore but from what I'm hearing it's not looking good. Snow, slush, 1" of ice is a bad program.

Just got home from beach.  Went out at noon, walk was awful, landed myself in 23 ft.  Bought the Panoptix livescope this year 10" model, absolutely crazy!!!!  First time getting to use it.  Anyway, 2" of solid ice about 8" on top of that was crap with about 4-5" of snow on top of that.  The first hour i spent setting up, and getting shove ice that was incredibly annoying and incredibly abundant from out of my fishing hole and out of my sonar hole.  Throughout the day i would have to stick my spud down to push over large sheets blocking the holes.  I ended up with 2 perch and 12 eyes before my battery died during prime time 4:30 ish.

Very complete report komo15.  That is how an ice and fishing report should be posted.  Then it is up to the individual.

Just got home from sylvan. Today was my first time on the lake. Tons of guys out. The ice is no joke. Bottomed out my auger and had to spud through the rest of the way. There were spots my spud went through with 1 wack though so be careful. Had a decent day but had a TON of lookers on all different baits but they seemed almost impossible to convert. Is that how it goes at the beach or is there something I’m doing wrong?

I have noticed the same in the past and was told it was me so maybe it was something you were doing they didn’t like.

What lures and colors do all prefer for perch and walleye. Depth and more would help too. Thanks in advance....

I checked mid north shore again this afternoon. It was 1”-4” of stuff. Not much “good” ice. I got out 100 yards and it went to 1”.

It is deceiving too. Just because it looks the same as what you just walked on it can be totally different.

Not good.

Onieda along with other lakes are like deer hunting one stand , give it a few days and  adjust I've been fishing this lake on and off for over 40 years , yes " locals " know hot spots " or so been told" all lakes are the same , just enjoy days out  no one ,and I mean NO ONE kills them every day ,, but that's usually not posted ,unless your looking for help !!!
