Waveland or Rockville??
« on: Dec 17, 2010, 06:52 PM »
Anybody fishing Waveland or Rockville? I don't see many reports from this part of the state. Are these parks even open during the winter to get access? I have never ice fished either lake.

What about Raccoon? I know they drain it for the winter, is it fishable?

I fished Rockville last year, got some nice gills thru the ice.
I hear there are some nice crappie there also.
Haven't been over there yet this year, might check it today or tomorrow, will report.

Rockville is open as of today for icefishing.  He has one area marked with caution tape that just froze over due to the geese keeping it open.

I fished Waveland Wed and Friday caught quite a few gills but size was another issue.  The gate at the park is closed.  The Ice is about 4 inches thick where I was. It was good to hear that Rockville is open.  Do they charge a gate fee?

No they do not charge a fee.  The number to call and check ice quality and make sure they are open is (765)-589-6541.
Lets go get em

You don't get in trouble for fishing waveland when they're closed?
