Looks like Clam is going to be jumping into the electric auger market with a 120V Auger.
"Clam 120V Ice Auger Kit
Frictionless World•4551
The Clam 120 Volt Lithium Ion Ice Auger was designed and engineered in the frozen lakes of the Rocky Mountains. Drills up to 86 holes through 20 inches of ice with accuracy and precision – all on a single battery charge and, is 50% faster at drilling holes than the competitor’s ice auger. Plus, it's quiet and free of toxic exhaust, making it a smart, safe choice for use inside your ice fishing shelter. Everything you need to drill through the ice and land your trophy is included. Gone Fishin'!"

aka Trophy Strike. I thought the shape of that auger head was eerily familiar. No wonder they didn't compare the Clam to Trophy Strike as well. lol I wonder how close the specs are to the Trophy Strike 120V.

Trophy Strike head and ion auger. Clam seems like they are always 'borrowing' concepts from others. I am bummed by the price of the new strikemaster drill specific auger. Not paying $200 for an 8in when my original lazer works just fine. Bummer

if you look at the info that was posted it is only the auger and extension, a case for a battery, and the charger, and a possible second battery (not sure as I don't know the details of this yet but the picture shows a battery on the auger and then a separate battery. I will need to ask about this to be sure so the correct info gets out). it will be a 8 inch auger on it. there is a 10 inch auger that will be offered as a add on accessory along with extra batteries, extensions, blades for both sizes, and three adapters to make it so you can use almost any auger with it. the first adapter will allow you to use a k drill or regular lazer or chipper style auger with this power head, the second adapter allows you to take the auger from this and put it on the drill plate, & finally the third adapter allows you to use a hand auger on this powerhead ( which will be nice for those of us that run 6 inch hand augers on our drill plates now to use the 6 inch auger on this powerhead since they are not making a 6inch auger for this yet).

I'm surprised the battery is only 2 amps.

I just got some more information about these augers from my contact directly at Clam. Clam is not the ones making or selling this. Frictionless World aka the maker of Trophy Strike augers approached Clam about these. A deal was made between the two companies and Frictionless ended up licensing the Clam name for some of their augers. So in short it is a Trophy Strike auger that is just the Clam blue color and has the Clam name and Frictionless World is the one making it. As to if Clam will have in on their website for sale or not I haven’t heard yet but if they do it would be a deal where they take the order and Frictionless fills the order from their warehouse most likely unless Frictionless plans to send them to Clams warehouse for final shipping from there.

How long do the batteries generally last on the Augers? When I was working as a paramedic we had stretchers that were battery operated that only lasted for a couple of patients and we needed to change batteries.
