Went to Hyalite this afternoon, caught some nice cuts as well as some really nice grayling. The largest was 17in and just under 3lbs, I did not know they got that big at Hyalite.

Just curious where you might have caught them.  I used to do pretty well up there and now all the sudden I cant catch a thing.  I tried the inlet, tried the boat ramp access (most success of 2!), tried right in front of the partking area and for the life of me I cant catch a thing, not hardly any bites.  You don't have to tell but I have to ask what kind of bait were you using.  I had always used some sort of glow hook w/ maggots and done the best but until recently I question my hardwater skills, on Hyalite anyway
thanks

I was fishing on the south end of the lake by the youth camp cabins. I was using the same hooks as you with red maggots.

thanks.  By the way always looking for people to fish with.  I have a pretty flexible schedule and if you'd ever like to head out or hook up on the ice just leave a post.

I tried cataract today.  Are there any fish in there really worth the production of getting up there.  Only got two, and couple more bites.  Couple 8" cutties.

Went into my favorite mountain lake yesterday. Ended up getting a truck stuck for two hours in the snow. Only had to hike in 1 mile though. Ended up only catching three fish but they were all three pounds. Fish were a really dark color, never seen them that color b4. Ice was only 12" thick. Fun times, looks like we were the only people in there this year.
