heading to arod tomorrow to see how it looks. heard some mixed reports from the local colonys. been cold enough for it. let me know if you want to meet out there and find out. be there at about 2 dont get out of work till noon.

hey perch eye. get your gear ready. 5 inches at arod and i could see where someone drilled some holes also. only fished for maybe ten minutes, no fish but also didn't have any bait. when we got out there that
north wind was pretty wicked. should have brought the shanty. next time.

Had an offer from a close friend to recon Rainbow Lake today. Too busy putting together a video for the "Jigalo" but I'll post the results of his road trip this PM.

Smith Lake just west of Kalispell had 4-5 inches of good ice on it yesterday.

As promised, here's a reliable Rainbow Lake report. 1.5" around entire shoreline and 3" toward middle. Give it another 3 days and it'll be safe and fish-able. I'll probably head out on Wed/Thur for seasonal shakedown.

We went to Arod today and the fishing sucked. We were just trying for perch and they weren't biting. There aren't any maggots available til next Thursday so we tried jigs and crawlers and the perch weren't interested. We even tried perch eyes and no good either. There is 7'' of ice though.

5" on Bailey's and other smaller lakes up here. Fresno and First lakes are still open water, but some ice.

Any idea where those dogs fell in? Georgetown has numerous springs around it which remain open most of the year.

I was fishin Georgetown today. I had a great day out there,caught a lot of fish! The ice was 3 inches thick at comers. I fished from about 10:30 to 1:30 and caught 25. A lot of smaller rainbows but a handful of good ones too. Gonna hit it again in the morning.

I myself have not targeted the kokanee but I have caught quite a few here and there. I know some guys catch a ton of em, like by the 5 gallon bucket. Lol

Sorry but I broke a tooth Monday so couldn't make Rainbow Lake today. Getting a crown tomorrow so Thursday's out as well. Will definitely be there Saturday.
