home-made cleats
« on: Sep 23, 2006, 11:48 AM »
I made my cleats by taking my favorite boots that had gotten the tread worn down and screwing hex-head roofing screws into the sole. its a cheap way to keep from slipping and you can replace them if they get worn down and they are removeable.

Just like Rgfixit showed in this picture from a few years ago.  I've done the same with an old pair of Sorels and love it.

Sweet!  They look professional as well.  Did you secure them from inside the boot as well or do the cleats only screw in from the bottom?
