little tip  theres a  place  for  a  rope  on  your  spud   it  goes  around  your  wrist  ....... i have  3  spuds  one is in my  truck all winter   other  one  goes in my  sled   no i really  don't  go out without it

This weather is depressing.

Ok back to splitting firewood and checking the long term forecast every hour.

Thank you - he got me started ice fishing when I was a little one - I wouldn't trade that spud for 10 gas augers.  He's been gone almost 5 years now - I really miss going with him.

my  pop has been gone 25 but he's still my partner.....think about him every time i fish or go trapping

In my Jet Sled in my SUV...found some walkable/4 inches of ice with it yesterday ...I gifted a BPS one to my buddys kid and he also put it to good use yesterday as well.

I replaced my old spud with an Eskimo Economy Ice Chisel, nearly 3 lbs lighter!  Tricked it out, sharpened it up, strap, grip and a sheath.

Yep, same with me and bow hunting - every year I think its going to be easier but it hasn't gotten there yet.

tears  will replace with smiles  and that empty feeling  is switched to warmth and you realize he's still your partner too and always will be

Mine is en route from Cabela’s because last week I accidentally left it at #4 campsite on Horseshoe Lake. Congrats to whoever got it. I left it on Wed evening after dark and it was gone by first light Friday morning when my brother went to fish out of the same spot. I thought it might survive a single day without getting snatched. Fairly remote area and all. I promised my wife that the Lithium Ion auger would be my ONLY gear purchase of the season but I had to renege. I told her it was the most important piece of safety equipment I could have.

You got me with this one Trapper. Lost my dad Dec 6. I too, think about him all the time. He wasn't a fisherman but I did get him out on the ice a few times and he loved it. I miss him very much.

 Last 2 outings , first trip at least dozen guys out not 1 spud except mine and the goon , second trip about 40 guys out saw a few , I guess it’s the age old story there are people out there must be safe
