Pretty cool video. It is very informative, not that we have a lot of deep basin crappie here in Colorado.

Long time ago I was told we have the same problem with lake trout here in Granby.

Here's an interesting video posted by Uncut Angling that refutes a lot of the claims/conclusions of the above study.  It seems the methodology of the Angling Buzz study was flawed.  An interesting watch, for sure!

Lake trout have the ability to burp their air bladders so they tend to suffer less from Barotrauma like crappies which can't burp the air.

I agreed with Aaron from uncut. The study was really harsh of those crappies from the measurements, fin cutting, and moving around in buckets. Then leaving them in that metal netting all night no wonder most died. Also, Aaron took the research as a dig towards front facing sonar units. The narrative that they are akin to poaching. Which those of us that have used the forward facing technology will tell you it doesn't make them bite.

I found a pile of crappies last Saturday with my scope, caught zero of them.

Yeah, even the forward facing stuff doesn't tell you where the hungry fish are.

I didn't watch the video but Ive caught buttloads of deep Perch and the line seems to be at 28 ft.  30 and deeper they puke the bladder..  25 and less they're fine!

Crappie seem to be about the same.
