Title: End of another season
Post by: slickice on Feb 28, 2024, 01:34 PM
Stick a fork in it for me.  Ice is getting marginal in Western Mt.  Had a productive season, caught plenty of fish, had a great time but it's time for me to hang it up this year.  Ice around here is pulling away from shore, candling & getting too soft for my comfort.  At 75, I'm not keen on taking an ice cold bath while trying to have fun.  The early walleye run is around the corner so I'll shift gears onto soft water.  For other "iceheads" who'll give it a few more weeks, be careful. Don't end up like the guy in Trout Creek.  Speak w/you guys next season.  ;)

Have a great open water season slickice! Fortunately, the weather is looking good for us up here in the northwest corner with lows dipping into the twenties and teens starting Thursday. I'll be on the hardwater for our "spring" break next week but am definitely looking forward to getting the boat out for the walleye run.
