A post elsewhere on this site got the better of my curiosity. The poster had been an IceShanty member for one month and had just made his first posting to the site. (Is everyone this patient)?

So, my question is:

After becoming an IceShanty member, how long was it before you made your first post ???

After becoming an IceShanty member, how long was it before you started your first new topic ???

First day as a new IceShanty member I made my first post.
After a couple of days I believe I started my first topic.

How about you . . .  ???

became a member    Mar 08, 2003, 02:12 PM   so I can't remember that much but I think that I posted right away but didnt really becom active until last feb and I think that that is when I posted my first topic.... I think I finally hit 300 posts either with this post or the next can't remember so I still haven't been very active but MFF I have been more active and will continue it this summer!!!

I lurked this site for almost a year because I'm not really the chat room type.  The more I lurked the more I saw a group of friendly, helpfull and dedicated fisherpearsons.  When hard water season rolled around this year I figured it was time to open the door, let some cold air in and enter the shanty.  When I felt I had something to say I logged in and posted a few minutes later.  Took me a couple of weeks before I had something that I thought was worth starting a new topic over.

yeah i posted right away obviously cause you cant get 1150 post in 5 WEEKS just reading other peoples posts 31 a day aint bad one of these days ill get a life :tipup:

i  posted right away but not real sure about the topic , but cant get enough now. Arch i hope your using an ergonomically correct keyboard   :D  i thought i would get a life someday but wasnt happening so i became a mod   :D

It was about 2 days from joining to posting...looking through my old posts, it was a while before I created a topic...then again I joined in August and ice wasn't happening any time soon (first trip on the ice was the last weekend of November).

HEAR, HEAR! I have to agree 100 percent about the generally friendly, helpfull and dedicated "fisherpearsons" to be found on this forum. (By the way, I just use fishermen [faster for this two-finger-typer] and the ladies here do not seem to mind). Kinda think they are used to it and are quite forgiving about our occasional lapses in political incorrectness.

Better to have 35 (that is what you have at this time) good constructive posts than a bunch of one line (c)rap, right ???

I may not be too imaginative on the "smilies" but thanks to your help, will be working on it . . .   ;)

Didn't post for some time, did allot of lurking and reading for some time. Felt comfortable asking questions and getting responses so I started adding more thoughts and suggestions. Still in the learning curve for ice fishing. Very glad this board is here.
