Those old GE's were great! Keep an eye out for them at garage sales...I know I posted this before... but Tank rigged his electric knife to run off a sewing machine pedal. It is slicker than frozen snot! A few reasons - Those knifes were not designed to turn on an off thousands upon thousands of times like a pedal is. Eventually the triggers burn out.But the main reason was hand cramp and fatigue from holding the trigger. Now you just rest your foot on the pedal and it controlls the blades... If anybody has access to a pedal and feels crafty, it is quite nice...
Mine is an American Angler Ultra . I think it is an inexpensive Wal-Mart knife. It has cleaned hundreds, maybe thousands of fish without a problem. I've asked Santa for one of the new cordless Berkley Knives with the LIon battery. I could not bring myself to spring $100.00 for it but I had no problem askig Santa .
I bought a Rapala 110v electric knife about 8 or 10 years ago. Must have been before the safety switch generation. Still going strong and only on the second set of blades. The cord on it is good and long. I can plug it in at home and it would probably reach to the lake Couldn't imagine cleaning fish without an electric anymore.
