I made a simple upgrade to my jet sled that anyone can do.  I used a piece of 2x6, 2 eye bolts, a bungee cord, a 1 & 1/8 inch drill bit (I believe), a tape measure and permanent marker to make a ruler, and a piece of metal on the end to put the fishes nose against for a quick and accurate measurement.  Not in the picture I added 2 eye bolts to the front and made the pull rope much longer so I could put it over my shoulder and across my chest.

I like the rod holders on your commando toofuss.  Nice set up.  I need to get a 1 man shelter for after work nights.  I got a 7' long Clam honker.  love it but a lot to move, load, set up etc when its just me.   :-\

Yep I run the commando when it's just me and an otter Lodge for bigger outtings or when I can drive out. The only thing I don't care for with the commando is the maxx system in it. The rod locker is not big enough

I have been working on a Eskimo 1 man flip i got at the end of last season. So I tore it apart and made a few changes for this season, mostly because the triangle seat was a little rough on my undercarriage.

Yeah, I'm reasonably happy with the final product for now. I would still like to add reflectix to the top and I'm still working on lights as well. It's a bit of a Frankenstein project since I was trying to put stuff to use that I already had left over from when I tricked out my Voyager and other projects as well. So I ended up with a Clam seat, Frabill rod holders, Coleman beverage holders, and a door prize from a I cubs game that I re-purposed into a tackle/storage unit. I used Fusion paint on the sled tub and we will just have to see how it holds up. I'm ready to see some ice soon.... Hope everyone else is having a good pre-season as well    Shoney

Got a plan for a fan in my Eskimo the other night. Total cost was around $3 and I'm hoping it will help with some condensation and keeping a more even heat in the shack.

I already use the Milwaukee batteries for my auger and the fan just plugs into the power source on the adapter or my new power box I'm building. The little thing moves more air than I originally thought it would and the flexible head makes it so you can really point it in any direction needed.

I'm looking to put some led lights in my eskimo quick flip 1 and need some ideas. I found some of the flat led strips but almost all of them I find are 16 ft long and I don't think I need that much. Does anyone have any suggestions for light strips or bars that I can wire into a Vex battery with a toggle switch?

Those strips can be cut down in groups of three.. so 3,6,9,12...

Will I be able to run new wires to each strip if I cut them down? From what I've seen from the pictures online is one end of the 16 foot strip has the wires to run to a power source and the other end is sealed off with no wires.

As long as you cut the LED strip at a certain spot (usually the manufacturer shows a cut spot).  This is usually between every third LED.  It will be at an area that you can see a slight copper area on the strip that will have ++ and --.  There is where you can cut.  If you cut between the other LED's some will not light up.  Then all you need to do is either solder on leads or use another connector to light up the string you measured out.

If you get a 16' roll, you will use it on more than your shack. I put a bunch under my truck topper too.

You can get premade lengths in housings, they are kind of pricey, but less fussing. I am not sure of the mini-USB connector, could be confusing to someone later. It is 12V. I am sure there are others, this is just to give you an idea.

You cut the strips between the group of 4 copper pads-

If you can solder, you make the connection to the copper pads. Its fussy but doable.

Awesome info. I'm glad you posted this because I really like the longer strands that you can cut down but I wasn't going to buy them because I didn't know you could/how to hook the cut pieces up. Thanks alot!

Decked out the frabill, added swivel to the seat with storage compartments under the deck. Added lighting and hooks for my heater. ALso, put some skids on the bottom so the sled lasts longer.
