ATV snow tires
« on: Nov 13, 2017, 07:30 AM »
Looking to buy new tires for my four wheeler.  I'd like to get a set that would be the best for snow/slushy conditions.  Any opinions on the model and brand of tires to get?  I will be getting a set of chains also.

Thanks

Don't know which are best because I haven't tried them all. In my opinion, Sedona Ripsaws work well for me.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Jamie, so do you know what kind or brand of chains you will be getting? Maybe thinking of getting some myself.

I do not have an idea around the chains yet.  If others have used chains, please let us know.

Some suggestions in this thread ----- https://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=348037.0

As far as chains go, just get a decent set with the V-Bars.

Chains make a huge difference on my Polaris. I got them for all 4 tires but the front ones wouldn't clear the tie rod ends. By the time I realized this, it was too late to return them. Something to be aware of if you want all 4 corners chained.
Thank you Lord for thinkin bout me. I'm alive and doin fine!!!!!!

Get your buddy the thiefs bolt cutters and go shop the Walmart for car tire chains that have the same circumfrance as your rear ATV tires.  Cut them down to size as needed and put on the heavy duty black rubber bungies.   I made mine four winters ago and   they work exceptionally well. I put them on again this weekend and they went on first time around.   I tightened them up a little after driving a few hundred yards and they are ready to go when we get ice.  I think total cost was around $30   The bolt cutters make it happen.
