folding fishing chair pullover?
« on: Nov 26, 2018, 08:09 PM »
Hey Folks. Greetings from Eastern Canada! (SE New Brunswick) Just found the forum tonight as I was looking for shelter/pullover ideas for the upcoming season.

I've got a 3-man hub shelter that I usually throw on my Jet sled, which is great for when I bring my son and my dad are out with me, but it is too much hastle when I'm on my own. This season I'd like to get out a bit more in the late afternoon after work, and would love to find something quick and easy that would fit in our little car ('04 Echo 2dr hatchback) Was wondering if anyone has seen something like this chair blind, but for ice fishing?

https://altansafeoutdoors.com/product/my-chair-blind/

If not, I'm of the mind to try and put one together if I can work out the flexible supports... might be a subject for a build thread.

Looking forward to picking your collective brains.

Happy Trails.

I've seen references to the Pak Shack before, but it was discontinued some time ago, and the Fish USA site apparently doesn't actually have any to sell (no button on the product page to add to cart)... but it would likely cost me a pretty penny to get it up here across the border.

Only big downside that I remember was wind.  Surprised these haven't taken off again with everyone going lighter and smaller

I had one and I loved it.  The wind was an issue with my pak shak so I built a small platform for the unit that had two small runners and it worked much better.  Wish I still had it!  I had kids and needed a bigger setup.

Im considering getting one of these pods for the windy days., but I’d have to make sure to put something heavy in it to keep it from blowing away. It does have anchor points, just rather not use them if I want to move. https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/under-the-weather-sportspod-16utwundrthwthrtnodr/16utwundrthwthrtnodr

Just a heads up those camp style chairs..they are the most uncomfortable chairs I have used for ice fishing ..other activities ..sitting ..sitting around a fire ..but leaning forward peeking down a hole not the best option ..I agree with the above  post above get a one man with the chair/seating that suits you .
Give a man a fish he eats for a day .Teach a man to ice fish he has an obsession for a lifetime
