2.  Jigging for trout in 70 fow in midwinter about 5 feet from the bottom.

Cant say Ive specifically caught one in a wierd spot, but I caught about a 3" eye in the middle of the summer out in the middle of the lake.

Also caught one in about 3 feet of water by a dam, on  a crayfish, on a 90 degree day. I think he came up by the dam because there was cooler water there?

they'll readily take lures floating at rest on the surface at night also

Oh yeah thats a blast when you get them doing that.  We discovered that one by accident one night.  Had to stop trolling for a minute.  My buddies lure was floating on the surface and a 20" slammed it.  Then we caught 4 more like that.

In a shallow slough in the spring where I'd never caught one...and a 4 pounder out of a lake where there weren't "supposed" to be any walleye  :D

In a pool behind a dam that was 3' around and 9" deep just picked him up with my hands. He must have washed over the dam from a previous flood.

I guess it would be the one that I jigged up off the bottom of about 55' of water.

In a little neighborhood pond on a spinner bait.  I thought that the pond only held bass and bullhead.  Turns out some guy down the street had put some in there years ago.  Don't know how they survived thought it would get too warm in the summer

I caught a 5 pound walleye when I was flipping docks for bass in a marina. Never thought that when I had the hit that I'd be pulling up a walleye.

The biggest eyes I ever catch are during the steelhead run...unfortunatly eye season is normally closed.  One year when fishing at hardy dam in Croton Michigan, it was a task to keep the eyes off your fly.  It wasn't uncommon to pull in 10 pounders like kids catching gills in the back yard pond.  The biggest had to have pus ;Dhed at least 15-16 pounds.  I didn't have a scale and with the DNR on the other side of the river I didn't take the time to find one.  If anyone can match eyeballs with size reference, I could have easliy stuck my thumb into it's eye socket, still having clearence.  It was a HAWWWWWWWG.  Oh, and it hit on a size 12 stone fly.

That during a full moon? Or just during any night? I figure the moon would give off the needed light, but with a walleyes eyes, maybe they don't need the light.
