Finally some cold
« on: Dec 18, 2019, 01:31 PM »
The next handful of days and nights should really lock a lot of places up. Gonna try to get out Sunday somewhere but might still go north just to be safe. If I stay in CT I'll definitely post an update in the reports board
The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike

Was out on Monday on the very outside chance I could get on ice. Didn't succeed but places I checked where just shy of being able to get on. I did find 3ish inches but not as hard as I trust.
Sometimes it feels like I live in a Pat McManus story!

There's a small local pond I drive by every day in my commute to work. Every day I've been expecting to see open water after the warm and rain. Today I see a double wide shelter and a wood stove and tip ups on my way home!! Grabbed my Spud before I headed over to my parents and went out to talk to them. Couldn't believe when there was 4" of ice. 2.5" of white ice and 1.5 of blackish ice  :o

Yup. Saw that too. Too bad there's nothing but small bullheads in that place.

There used to be some decent bass in there, caught a couple smaller ones this summer. Just highly pressured so it's tough there. I'd never honestly consider it to fish but it's right next to my house so it's nice to go and check local ice

Wind is supposed to calm down after today so everything will hopefully at least be locked up by the weekend
