how thick was the ice. I'm hear/reading 3-5 inchs on the small/shallow ponds. What was your experience with conditions

Any update would be appreciated before I lay some $$$ on a hotel in the adks for this weekend 8)

I would not be running off to the Adirondacks yet, save your money. It rained heavy all day here.
There was 1-2 inches of ice in most spots maybe 3 at the most. No consistency from hole to hole.
It was foggy and warm all day.
As the day progressed the ice got weak. We could not get within 5 feet of each other and the ice started cracking.
It sure was fun

BE SAFE OUT THERE! LIFE JACKETS, ROPES, ICE PICK ETC!!!

I know of a few ponds that were solid enough around me but with all this rain and warm temps, I don't think anything is going to be solid to walk on for a while.

Got out with UpstateIcemaster today, wow it was cold! SWEET!

Small pickerel on the hali thanks vexlar

Plenty of hardwater and snow and cold wind... its winter up here!

Nice job guys, Man I cant wait for the hard freeze up there. Some of my target species are just not around in my homestate and I dont care how far of a drive it is for quality fishing. Congrats, probably one of the few times Id be happy with a pickerel.

Finaly got the itch out... now its on

the trout waters will be locked up in no time

.... just felt good to be out on the hardwater
