Pfluger or shimano I don't like penn or fin nor much plus their company was sold yet again recently so expecting crappier reels yet..  maybe okuma might be good  too?  are you looking salt or fresh reel  could try Google Alan hawk reviews? they list good reviews..  even  open the reals up and show the good points about the reels them selfs opened up ...

I've got mostly Shimano or Pflueger (newer) for spinners. Got one Daiwa and it's OK but prefer my Presidents first and then the Sedonas I've had for ages.

My pfluger and shimanos have been reelly good to me.. never let me down.  no problems with either brands..  I have even landed salmon on shimano ix 4000 size .. which i dont recomend buying the ix serie reels..  there drag are crappy but I landed it ! When I was very young fishing on my own.. 25 lb king salmon on junk drag.

Just a heads up fishusa just sent me a email 15%off your spinning reel purchase today only!  I think it was code 'reelin'.  If it'd not contact me let me know.  I got to go pick a buddy up he had to drop his car off to be coated at dealer for stone gurad 1.5 hour drive away.. I got to meet him at 11 am  so if it not correct code let me know I will be back sooner or later..
