If minnow on plain hook will work, then I don't see why not a plain round jig head and minnow wouldn't work.

Fireball jigs have a time and a place.
The time is anytime you care to use them!

I have a friend who has one on his favorite pole, and it never gets taken off.
He loves 'em for perch and crappies.   I have tried them a couple of times, mostly when he has been catching fish and I haven't.

Not my first choice, but they do work.

Hope this helps,

Wiener

Use them all the time for walleye except I use a plastic curly tail.......Yep they work fine in the winter.......Best luck is a orange head jig w/lime green curly tail..........
