We fished it last year and had a good time but it seems like that weekend is always one of the coldest of the year.  Hopefully something bigger then 5lbs wins this year.

That was my friend that won last year. They all stayed at my house. The fish that won was 6.5 pounds and scored a touchdown of $1500.00. The door prizes look really good this year. We are all looking forward to it.

Yes it seems that way. If I recall 2010 it blew 30+ all day with a high of -5 wicked fun

It's always the wind that kills you on those big ponds, wasn't it like -20 something below air temp. one day at Ross to start?  Still seemed fairly tropical with not much wind. @)

Shoud have slept in that day, it wasn't so bad in the camp.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

  • A bad day fishing is better than any day at work!

Looks more like a big raffle rather than a fishing derby. Don't even have to fish to win. This derby originated as a way to reduce the small togue population in the lake. Maybe that mission is accomplished. Anyway, there are some nice prizes to be won and you don't even have to leave camp. ;D

Been doing this derby for a handful of years now with a large group of us.  Always a weekend to look forward to.  I fish this derby and then Moosehead typically has a week long derby in March for all species which is followed by a banquette.  Good times
