Is this an old Jason Mitchell rod?
« on: Jan 12, 2010, 08:15 AM »
Had a friend give me some ice fishing equipment that he doesn't use anymore. One item was a 30" rod that has "Mitchell Super Light S30L" on the back. The last two sections of rod at the tip are green.

I have only been really into ice fishing the last couple years. Did Jason Mitchell rods use to go by just Mitchell? Just curious. I haven't given it a try yet because it is a little long for my tastes to use inside my portable. I need to get a reel on it and I'll probably use on nice days when fishing outside. It seems like it has a nice action to it.

If it's fairly old, I'd say it was more likely a Garcia/Mitchell rod. I don't think the Jason Mitchell rods have been around all that long.

If you get a Mitchell Avocet gold or silver reel then you'll get a perfect Mitchell Mitchell match.  ;D
