I have and use this exact hand auger on my clam plate. It works great as long as the blades are sharp. Cosmetic Damage is present on my well used auger where paint has chipped off and some rust has started and I have repainted it a few times now. This type of damage is pretty normal wear and tear for sure but what is most important if you are buying a used one is the sharpness of the replaceable blades and if the shaft is at all bent or damaged. A buddy has the same auger and on his first time using it on a clam plate he made a big mistake by banging the blades onto the ice thinking he needed to get it started for drilling. That bent the bottom fin out of alignment and it just does not cut well at all since. Some guys like to drill a partial hole and use the auger as a tie off for their shanty. If the shaft gets bent at all you end up with a wobble drill that will not cut well at all.

Everything I’ve bought from the warehouse has been new, even the items marked just “good”. I got a hub last year from there, box was still sealed and windows all has the paper on them just like a new one would have.

I have purchased many items from the Amazon Warehouse. Most of the time the items are in excellent unused condition. Basically brand new or maybe some packaging damage. Occasionally I get something that is damaged/unusable and I simply return it to Amazon for free. Buying from the warehouse is basically risk free. If you are not happy with what you receive simply return for a full refund.
