I saw the Rapala Fillet gloves again for more than $10, thought I should let people know that I have switched to these textile "cut gloves" from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Induzeug-Resistant-Protectio,-Gardening-Shucking/dp/B096KB8H2H/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3T2YKLRZGTXJH&keywords=cut%2Bgloves%2Bkitchen&qid=1636394792&qsid=145-3389709-9026158&sprefix=cut%2Bglove%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-5&sres=B08KRTQXBL%2CB096ZZQSCQ%2CB09B244VRM%2CB096VKDN6F%2CB096KB8H2H%2CB0979JNVQW%2CB0919SYRQJ%2CB092RY5J1S%2CB08CVQ6S24%2CB08CVP2TWP%2CB08CV8Q8CY%2CB08JSQLBB8%2CB086W71DS5%2CB08KRT8YZ3%2CB08KRH249C%2CB06XGTXSKC%2CB06XGQ334R%2CB00GB9LAJE%2CB07W8462SW%2CB08M68XGWM&srpt=PROTECTIVE_GLOVE&th=1

They are a lot easier to get on and off, clean up in the dishwasher or washer, are cut proof as far as I can tell, and give a better grip and feel of the fish. I started out asking people how to clean the Rapala gloves when they got stiff, and ended up here. I only use one on my fish holding hand, and you can buy them for about 2 bucks each  ($4 a pair) from a number of vendors on Amazon. I use them when dressing big game as well, and get good grip in blood and avoid the chance of any nicks and bleeding on all that good meat.

How warm would you think they would be ..asking for all our deer processors/butchering members ..the deer carcass  can get mighty frigid  in them outdoor sheds.

Was thinking the same thing, went to Cabelas last weekend and they didn't even have ice fishing stuff out.  I need a new XL sled and a few other things.  Was going to spend a nice chunk of change.  GF still managed to do it but I didn't come home with much.  Guy in the fly fishing department had no interest in helping me find some hooks and tungsten for tying.  Every time I go to the place I feel like it gets worse and worse.

I hunted for a deal on a Jet Sled XL before the start of  last season ..got it on Amazon ..tried to find deals and coupons ..but the shipping was horrendous . I love that sled ..holds a bunch and easy to pulls with the wear bars ...unlike my Otter in a similar size.

Same as the one I go to here in Michigan. The only time I've been asked if I can be helped is by the pretty lady at the entrance wanting me to sign up for their credit card...every time. Young kids and old farts (like me) working with no interest or enthusiasm for being there. It's usually my last resort of places to go.

Great deal from a sponsor. This is basically the same unit that HT is selling for $55 just doesn't have the cheap cooler insert. $29.99 with very fast shipping. This is the first order I've placed with Sibereon and I have to say I'm very impressed.

Very outdated chart. DeWalt Mac and Craftsman are all owned by snap on now.

Agreed it’s an old graphic, but DeWalt, Mac, and Craftsman are still brands owned by Stanley Black & Decker.

Not to defend BPS or Cabelas but I visited the Cabelas in Wisconsin on I-41 on Nov 4 and they had a lot of ice fishing gear out. My buddies and I did our periodic visit to BPS in  Bolingbrook IL a couple of weeks ago and their guys in the Fishing dept were very helpful finding what I was looking for.

Looks like Lowes has the Big Buddy with the FAN

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Tough-Buddy-18000-BTU-Portable-Radiant-Propane-Heater/3011768

They may price match with Walmart (link below)...and may give a Veterans discount

https://www.walmart.com/ip/18-000-BTU-Portable-Radiant-Big-Buddy-Propane-Heater/19398780   $109

Only snag is the NAME..Tough Buddy ...Lowes may bark if its not exactly the same

Note on the Walmart site I watched this go in and out of stock.. to ship the last couple days ..and fluctuating in availability in my area stores ..its wonky ..suggest you throw it in your cart . and pounce when its available or visit your Local Walmart if available..take a picture/screen shot to verify with Customer service ..Keep the link handy as well.

this Picture is from the  Walmart site and it matches the one on the box I just received from Walmart..fan works upon testing (had to scavenger hunt for D cell batteries in my casa )

also fan included logo was imprinted on the box not an affixed sticker

Scheels has the Pnuma Iconx heated vest for $112 instead of $150 and an extra battery for $21 instead of $28. It has good reviews.

This discussion is costing me a fortune but I love it.

So, I ordered this IconX vest from Scheels and it arrived in just 2 days. Fabulous deal and it works great while sitting in my tree stand. I also got the spare battery. Wow was it nice on the medium setting and my back, lower back and chest stayed toasty warm in the morning chill. I wore it over my Under Armor base layer and fell in love. I never needed the spare battery today but once it gets a lot colder, a few weeks from now, it will be good to have and there is a pouch for the spare sewed into the vest.

Here is my advice. I am 180 pounds, 5' 10 inches with a size 34 waist. I got the size Large vest and it is pretty snug fitting for me. I just ordered the same vest in a size XL and the size large one will fit my wife a little better. I can't tell just how long the heat will last just yet but for 3 hours this morning while in a tree and with it on medium it was a pleasure to be warm in all the right places. Sitting out on the ice I will say this is a MUST HAVE for those who feel the cold.
If I agreed with you we would both be wrong!
