yeah I wouldn’t get a drill for ice that thick.where im at in Michigan might get 6” to barely over a ft of ice.last 6 or so years it was barely 5”.i wont use my drill in anything over a ft.ive got jiffy gas and propane augers still.

I was in a tourney last season and a friend had a drill setup with the Milwaukee/kdrill combo and 5 AH batteries. About 19” of ice. Couldn’t get more than 14 holes and they were dead. I would say if you only want to drill two holes a day then go for it. Otherwise, stick to gas.

KDRILL is the problem here.

I'm looking for a float suit my 12 year old son. An adult small would be ideal and you would think easy to find at a smoking deal, but I haven't seen anything great yet. Have any of you guys noticed any really good deals? Thanks

Widow maker lures are are having a sale on all tungsten jigs. Individual jigs for $1.59 and 30 piece sets with a jig box are $52. Got a set last year and they are pretty nice.

From what I can tell, Striker Ice was added to every major retailer’s “exclusions” list this year, similar to all of the major rod, reel and electronics manufacturers when they have site-wide % off sales. It will be much more difficult to score a deal on a Striker Suit until after the season ends now, when the price restrictions are eased by the manufacturers. Sorry.

Some retailers may still have some stock 2017 of adult smalls. I will poke around for you.

I noticed that too. Even Ion is on the exclusion list at some retailers, and most of the electronics too. Less deals to be had I guess.

Went to fill up the gas auger with gas. After spilling gas on myself and realizing the auger has a leak I finally pulled the trigger on an ion. Been wanting one for years. Got it shipped for $430 at sportsman's guide. I think it could have been had cheaper last year but oh well. Excited to be done with gas and heavy augers

We get 22+” of ice up here in the UP and my drill set up gets me easily around 50 holes a day and our temperatures are usually in the teens every day.

Battery technology has changed a lot in the past 5 years.

I only meant his batteries would die because the way the Kdrill drills. How many holes can you go through with you 5 ah batteries at 20"?

Many exclusions apply, but they seem to be ringing up discounted in the store.
