Lac Ste Anne
« on: Jan 04, 2020, 06:42 PM »
Ventured out to Ste Anne today was 10-12” of ice. Never managed a single bite was by the main pier targeting whites. The whole time I was on the ice I only saw 2 fish iced and they were small pike. Any tips for whites in that lake?

I was using 2 wire worms tied 12” apart.

Best luck for whites on St. Anne for me was the small silver Len Thompson or a
Wetaskiwin special, both very similar. Reef between the Rock island and Castle island always has whites, usually at the edge of the break in about 9-14 ft. Mission point can also produce but not as consistent, better for walleye.

Yeah I usually fish at mission once ice is thick enough to drive out to my spot.

That little island on the east end of the lake. Is the walleye half decent?

Go about 50-75 yards south of the island in 14-17fow pretty consistent for walleye. see pic.  I haven't fished here for a while but used to be lots of fish but not much over 20".
