Got another Chance to use the sled, perhaps last time for this season. Gave me some new ideas for it and I guess something to work on this summer.  Thanks again Shackless. It was a great day of fishing.

Someone asked further down the thread what the bouys were for.
I had the pleasure of analyzing not only the construction but the thoughtfulness that went into this/.
The bouys are attached to a rescue rope. If you look at the picture in the thread with all the rods, the red handle is a break away handle and the bouys are attached to the emergency rope.
There has been THAT much thought thathas gone into this well designed sled. Makes me think i'll be working on mine this summer.

A really well thought out, high quality creation.

Really like your sled... only problem I have is that when I crawl into my tent, I turn my sled over and use it as a table.  Guess that just means I need another sled!  Some great ideas there

Hi  ULTRAlite
Your right the table is a great idea... Sir, that would be my Phase Two.... LOL.. Phase two will hold a certain unit on the sled and then be able to be removed and used as a table and Rod holder, with in the tent .... ONLY if it works out ... LOL..

When I get the time.. I'll start working on the sled again.. Figure with all summer I can do a little more with it..

What if you designed a collapsable Table ( Keep it light in weight) so you can still keep items in your sled and you would not have to empty it out everytime you wanted to eat. ( you must have a mini sled or a very large ice tent eh?)

Talk to ya later..  Be safe.

Thanks CMMahy

LOL... Hi IcePirate6 , You can call it what ever you want,... LOL...  Sled, Go-Cart,  I call it = Ice Fishing Sled, Gear hauler, Cooking unit, Camping buddy, as long as it works for me and carries all the stuff I need it to carry and some or most of the stuff my friends bring.
Best of all it has all ready payed for it's self as it gave me some to do other than watch T.V. .... LOL

I'm so looking forward to getting a Eskimo Ice Auger  and if it does not fit well ... I'll have to build it a Trailer... LOL

The Neighbors had a blast with it as I took it for a test run with there kids in it... LOL.. A three year old standing in the front of it as his little sister sat in her Baby Child Care Seat behind him... They had a Blast.   :)

hey thier, i love the way it looks. i been watching you buld this sled since i found your post. i do have one concern or thought, your not worried about those pillow blocks on the back freezing up and not working. that would make the sled twice as hard to pull.

Hi monogosmash

No Sir not worried. ( But very good point) As I don't intend to have the wheels on it when it snows. I can take them off and run the it on the sliders all winter. MonoG - I'll play it by ear Sir. But for the most part I don't think i'll use em in the winter as i just put them on for summer use ( only) as it can now be used for more than one purpose.

There will have  to be a lot of test tuns.... LOL

thanks monogosmash.

The way it is now. Everything comes off expect the front bumper and the read Axle.. but if I find the rear axle gets in the way. I'll just take it right off until next year.. Kinda a wait and see thing... Know what I mean?

Hey all.

I figured with the addition of the wheels, I can use it in the summer now also.
Just finished glueing the Propane Stove Holder and Table together.

Bought my first Gas Ice Auger this year. So now I need to build  way to haul it. Soon, before the Ice gets here.

Some pics of my newest additions.

I'm sure if you think a little harder you ill find a way to hook the auger power head to the wheels ad ride that baby across the ice.  I got faith in you.

...

Hey Surf  and thanks Sir. I am really looking forward to trying to cook something on it.

I was going to ask you about that in the other thread with Eskimo Auger talks. I have already measured and did some serious
thinking about doing just that... Having the Auger Head separate of the Blade shaft.

And here is the Question about it.. And.... Yes it will probably sound stupid,( but since I have never held a Ice Auger)When one is on the Ice before and I guess mostly after using the Auger all day. Does it get all iced up around the Set screw that holds the Auger blade to the head of the Auger?

I have thought of having them separate before and after but was not sure if it would be more of a pain than not.

Know what I mean?
