william hammered half and half

crash the bottom a few times and then pause

chumming can also keep the fish under you longer

ive had luck with the 3" and 4" hammered half and half.

more often than not i wont tip it with anything but sometimes a minnow head or tail does the trick

I agree with hamiltonmike. Also the smooth finish half & half one works good for me.
A meegs/badboyz tip of jig also works good for me. I like tip tip them with a small minnow but many use a small tube. Tap the bottom a few times than let it rest just touching bottom, than add a small wiggle. Repeat sequence.
A sensitive rod is a must as the hits can be quite light and feel like a small change in the weight of the jig. At times they will hit quite hard though.

Good Luck: Rick

It's amazing the size of jigs that whitefish will hit & on Lake Simcoe the larger size Williams jigs seem to produce better for me.

Last year I was fishing Shoal Lake with some friends and one guy brought a buddy from Dryden who was using white tube jigs. These things were of the size you'd usually use on lake trout. He was nailing them when the rest of us were struggling with more traditional tackle. Just shows what they can take down with their little mouths.

BadBoyz with a big white tube jig around it. I sometimes use the large black and white ones too. Caught them on every kind of Williams. Just follow the directions above. Of course a  good flasher to let you know they are under you.

Mooselook Wabler/Williams Dartee is the ticket for me. Also, fishing 15-20' off bottom in 30-40' works up here.
