The season is coming!

I would love to be the first to say welcome to the new ice season of 23-24.  I may not post as much as some of you but have been a member for a while. Our season shortens every year but I enjoy every minute. The memories I have made with my children echo well beyond  the sport. I wish everyone a great hardwater season!  Let the games begin!

The first signs are here snow in the Berkshires on Wed.

I have two young relatives (niece and nephew) who want to try ice fishing this year.
I have a few waters that are usually productive for first timers (and regulars as well).

Now it's just a matter of prepping my gear and praying for cold temps.

If it's the place I'm thinking it does get ice early, very shaded pond and very shallow, but the fishing is horrendous 😅 all I ever got from there is dink bass and pickerel, the crappies are nice in the spring, but haven't got luck with then on the ice

There are big bass in there but they concentrate around the stumps on the shallow hump in front near the main rd.

Got a lot of nice crappies around those stumps during open water, the 12ft crappie rod makes quick work there
