Wounded fish pix:
« on: Feb 18, 2013, 08:44 PM »
Over the years ive caught quite a few fish that have shown to be wounded and still appear to be living a fish life, dont take too many pix but lets post up a couple weird ones that i did:

Sometimes mortality is questioned but over the years ive caught many fish who look like they have had a ruff time in their lives, so i think a high percentage of fish live thru a bad hookset or poor handling that were released, which contridicts what some people believe.
I think this one got a hook in the eye and has healed up well- very healthy fish swam away to live another day.

Absolutely zero eye left.

Still unknown wuz up with this brookies sore:

Cut up dorsal fin:

Mr freckles:

and lipstick is kinda weird  ;D

Lets see some weird ones..

I got some footage I'll post.....in the "post season".     Its sad, made me upset when I watched  it on the computer later that night after I got home from fishing.    :'(

In the meantime, check out this video of a wounder fish still trying to get my bait, in the same lake as Iand Bow picture.   crappy  footage quality,   too bad I didnt have the GoPro back then.

The injured bow doesnt come in until about 1:09 of the video,   watch it at that point until the end for a  closeup.

Ise de by who catches the fish...and takes em home to Liza.

Here's what appeared to be a healthy peamouth from one of our local lakes, until this worm started crawling out of its hole... Tapeworm?
This fish definitely was not going to survive as its stomach was sucked dry of all nutrients. There were these bigger worms and a couple small ones wrapped around the guts. There were many peamouth on the flasher but were reluctant to take the marmish, which is unusual. Perhaps they're all infected..

the only time ive seen that is at West lake= its pretty gross.
hopefully dont see any spread to other lakes cuz dont want it to effect other fish.
