yep, I was out raking leaves yesterday and noticed the bird bath had a nice coating of ice. I set a tip-up and went back to raking leaves... no bites. I worked in Allentown today. Was a very heavy frost.
Are you still swimming Chris?
I remember that year Spider.I think you guys were on Tobyhanna.Right around thanksgiving.I agree,no icefishing trip is worth endangering someone's lives I remember when I was a kid icefishing with my dad.we icefished END OF November to end of march most years.Got some big Bass in March, too. Not too many guys hugged back then, mostly tulips in going back 50 years now.Boy,I'm getting old.
yeah, I packed it all away last night and dug out my ice gear. I'm ready. My buddy Rutt and I went out one time to Gouldsboro right around Thanksgiving. (hey Rutt, was that on thanksgiving or a couple days after?) Well, anyway, the ice was 4"- 5" in most places. It got thinner near the spillway channel so we didn't go over there. If it's under 4" I don't go on it unless I know the lake is less than a few feet deep. My families well being is more important to me than a few fish. If I get myself killed, they would suffer greatly and I won't do that to them. Not to mention the families of the guys that will risk their lives to try and rescue me.
Chez is right- it was Tobyhanna and it was the Sunday after T-giving(3 days). And someone didn’t have their ice-creepers....................don’t ask me how I remember!
Lmao,Rut.....If i had to guess it was mr.Spider who forgot his creepers.lol.I can't wait for all of us to get out TOGETHER. And thank the lord your still with us....And Mr Twinkies after his heartattack.all good in life.holidays, hunting, icefishing and family.it don't get no better.as a good friend of mine would say.END OF story.
Yep- you’re always looking out for our safety Spider! Lmao...I wasn’t gonna say anything.............. was gonna keep everyone guessing.
