Lets not hope for that hard water quite yet. I still haven't winterized my boat. I'm hoping to still get out a couple more times.

Same here, I was in the garage today looking over the gear. We had a few snowflakes today, we're suppose to get a couple inches tonite, but...  Its going to be a long time before ice here.
Where's Barleydog? He probably only has about a month before ice up there.

BJ,

I'm thinking about first ice......if there is ice up there in Dec., I will want to go as soon as possible. Any NH people out there that get ice in Dec every year?? WHERE???

Well holy cow i cant believe this sight is open now. I suppose once it gets below 50degrees everyone starts getting the itch!!! With all this cooler weather its getting me thinking its time to start getting the gear out and going through it all. Got some wicked good deals this summer on some gear but havent had much time to fine tune it all yet. I have to go shoot my 250lb buck first (lol).  Great to see a few people checking in and cant wait for that first freeze!

Barleydog,
I noticed the other day it was in the 70's in your neck of the world and here in Rochester, NY it was 40.

Go figure!

Can't hunt here on Sundays so some ice would be nice to fish on . Got some snow too.
   Come on Ice . LOL

Laughs that's all I can give you guys!  Here I am in the Ice fishermen's heaven and it's HOT, (o.k. maybe not to most of your standards!)  You guys know it's bad when Interior Alaska is warmer than 50% of the lower 48.  70's and 60's in October is just plain wrong. ???  I can't believe that I'll have to fly south to a "polar" state like New York or Wisconsin in order to chop a hole this year.  We are still swattin' the big skeeters and the kids won't have to trick or treat in snowsuits this year.  This heatwave is one sure way to make several hundred Eskimos homeless!  Get the tanning lotion out and get me into a pair of speedos it's time for Indian summer ;D
