IFF - I have dies for a lot of cartridges I no longer have rifles in. I pared my collection down to minimum several years ago, and I did a lot of wheeling and dealing before that. So I only have maybe 5 cartridges I load for myself now, but still about 30-40 sets of dies.

I do own a 308, but I rarely shoot it. My Dad was a gunsmith and built it, so it's just around for sentimental value. It's a stubby little featherweight thing that kicks like a mule.

303 Savage, 300 Savage, 300 Blackout, and 32 S&W Long are pretty much all I load for my own use anymore.

Good evening, drove around my complex early this morning not many open parking spots so moved my vehicle across the state highway and parked in the lot of a former doctor's office building is currently empty. The tree company did a nice job besides clearing the power lines also cut back the tree limbs over hanging parking lot. I'm happy about this as by my parking spot there is a tree that drops small purple berries on my vehicle during most of August so SUV should stay a little cleaner. Nice day here with a high around eighty.
Ice Wanderer may it not have been to bad of a day baby sitting your grandchildren and their friend. Glad your gums have healed and the permanent bridge will be installed next week especially since the temporary was giving you a problem.
Zcm-28 I,ve had similar response over the years when like you was doing my and another person's job because of vacation. I make the occasional purchase from Sportsman's Guide so on their Email list, there currently having a sale on ammunition and some reloading supplies including 308 brass shell casing and bullets. It might be worth your friends time to take a look depending on how often he uses that firearm. think the sale is on until July27 TH midnight Central time check the fine print at bottom of page to confirm the date.
Eddie I hope the diagnostic test answered your question about an electrical issue possibly causing the transmission problems.
Wallyworld so far have not seen to much haze caused by the wildfires here in my section of South East NY. Best to the two of you tomorrow on whatever lake your visiting and targeted species.
Fish/hunt4ever Happy to read the fire near you was smal and has been put out by the firefighters. May you not see any problems by your home.
IFF have a safe trip back to Colorado. Sorry to hear about your brother having dementia may you be able to repair your relationship with him before heading home. If I remember correctly your brother lives on the same property as your niece it might be a good idea to have her check his mail daily so bills are paid on time. Also if need arises she may want to be appointed his power of attorney. My mother developed dementia I had to watch her to make sure she remembered to eat and she want she did with each day's mail . She had it in her head that it was alright to pay bills on the due date shown on the bill. I had to deal with our electric power supplier and ask them not to shut of power for non-payment,we also were with out phone service once because of non-payment of the bill.

Eveyone take car and stay healthy.

Steve:  That brother has everything in the way of payments on auto pay, And any needed power of attorneys were set up as far back as 2005 when he had his first heart attack, a second one I am told in 2007 and a stroke in 2014, tough ole bird LOL.  the first one resulted in a triple by-pass, the second one some stints from that only compliant's is hip and back pains now and then, we have all noticed his unsteadiness when walking about.  His standard response is a black spot in one eye ???.

Made the short drive down to Nephew Cory's just in time to join him and a couple other guests for evening steelhead fishing, two were caught by the couple one being a good sized Keeper, first steelhead in their life.  I forgot my phone so no picture by me but got them good pictures on their phone to capture the memory.

Cory will be guiding in his drift boat in the morning, Me I am going to work on my boat and prep it for returning to Denver.

time to find my pillow, will check in, in the  wee hours.

                Good morning ER's,
It's 59* and and mostly cloudy here on my hill. ::)
Bud........I hop[e you can get your boat repaired for your return trip.
Steve......I know those trees that you had over your car, they make such a mess. Hopefully they trimmed them back far enough
so the berries don't hurt your paint.
Fish.......That sage brush when dry is a big fire hazard, when I lived in California we had the same scenario so we kept the brush cut
short even the brush off our property. :flex:
Zcm.......It seems all bosses are the same, I think everyone at one time or another pulled double duty and never got recognition  for
it. Bosses expect it I think?
Eddie.....I hope you have good news for us this morning about your transmission problem. ???
Marv......I guess the temperature isn't changing much out there, so with the high heat level I expect you'll be stay low until it breaks.
Wally.....Have a good day out on the water.
The grand kids and their friend were great, they kept busy while I picked up rocks that came out when I trenched for my fiber optic cable.
This morning I getting some top soil to cover the area that I had ditched and backfilled with sand.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good morning Bud, IW! Good morning everyone

71 heading to a sizzling 97 with a heat index around 105 :cookoo: Today should be the warmest of the week, so they guess ???

Just a quick Hello as I am heading to the shack in a little while to check things out and fetch the camera card.

I found out yesterday a neighbor a couple houses from me got broken into around lunch time. It sounds like they got a lot of stuff. I guess it's kind of a wake up call.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

57* and a few clouds.
IFF, hope things work out with your brother.
Drifter, glad you caught your dinner the other night.
WW, good luck with the fish today.
Lindsay and I fished yesterday. Lake is up about 3 and a half feet and very dirty. Lots of junk floating. Lindsay caught 3 walleyes and I got a SMB. Not sure where the walleyes moved too. They weren't where they were the last time out. We had a good time. Wife is getting ready to leave on her "vacation".
Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

Morning all, 71° here at the moment, forecast high of 86° and mostly sunny later. Chomping at the bit to get out on the river again, especially since the level is back down to normal now. I'll definitely be out there after rough fish at first light tomorrow.

IW - yeah, as long as it isn't them having to do it, it's ok 😉 I can't complain too much. I hardly ever pull OT, and the wife's car needs some work, so the extra money will be nice.

mr.clean - I dropped him a text to let him know about the sale. I myself am all set on goodies for everything, other than primers for my 222, but I don't shoot that very often, so I should still be good for quite a while.

I did order a new expander for that 308 die this morning... got lucky, they're on sale at Midway right now, so it was only $2.99. I went ahead and ordered a spare for my 303 and 300 Savage dies, too. My 303 brass size really hard since the rifle has an extremely  oversized chamber, so I imagine I'll end up boogering up the expander ball on that sizer sooner or later.

Good Morning Everyone,
Looking like a repeat of yesterday’s weather here today, 60* with a light breeze, high of 71 with sunshine.

Wally…hope those Oneida walleyes treat you and Mr.WW right today…Best of luck out there!
H2…wow, the water level really rose on the reservoir. Glad you and Lindsay had a good time and caught a few, safe travels and best wishes to your wife on a wonderful trip!
Marv…have a safe trip to the shack, hope the camera is holding some good looking pictures!   That really sucks about the neighbors place being broken into, hope they can catch the thieves.
Jeff…glad everything went well with your grandpa duties yesterday!   Beautiful weather today for your topsoil project.
Bud…sorry to read about your brother and the dementia problems, best wishes to him and the family. Hope you can patch up the differences before leaving. Safe travels back home and good luck with house!
Steve…sounds like things are going pretty well with the tree removal work, glad you found a parking spot.
FH4…glad that fire was caught early and didn’t spread out of control. Hope you have  a good wrap to the week and can get a fishing trip in this weekend.
Z…best of luck on the river this weekend, hope the bite is on!

I arrived at the shop about 20 minutes early yesterday morning and spoke with the owner/mechanic for a bit before they put my truck in the bay.  Very nice guy, family owned business since the 70’s. He and another mechanic spent a little over an hour on it scanning and running tests, checking wiring etc., couldn’t pinpoint the problem.
He didn’t charge me anything for the time spent on the diagnosis, but asked if I was interested in dropping the truck off this coming Sunday so he could do a more in depth search on Monday. There’s so many different sensors and electrical components involved with the transmission it could be anything. Some are internal, so dropping the pan and getting into the transfer case would be necessary. New filter, flush and fluids would be done also which is something I’ve overlooked and with my luck, probably the cause. Will be making a decision on that today. Made an appointment with a transmission shop that came highly recommended for a rebuild if necessary…August 9th was the earliest appointment. Was told by him the transmission in my truck was notorious for burning up the 3-4 clutch packs ( drive and overdrive) which I have read in depth about in so many forums.
Going to “ change gears “ and catch another minor league baseball game tonight with some of the family… ;D
Cawfee’s still hot if anyone needs a refill….
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Thanks Eddie, and yes I do need a coffee.  Not much chance of that before I leave the area, which just might be sooner rather than later.

Kind of hard when there are big steelhead in the river near by.

Good afternoon everyone

Got back from the shack a little while ago, talk about a toaster out there. The mosquitoes were thick and the deer flies were on a bombing mission. I didn't find any wood ticks yet, but will get back to you in a couple days on that

The camera had a few videos on it but for some reason the IR wasn't working so no night videos. Anyway I combed through the videos and found enough for a movie. I am guessing the heat is holding a lot of game movement to a minimum. In case you are wondering I dumped a sack of water softener salt in a depression by my stand, it seemed to draw some attention.

Well as the day wore on here the heat amd smoke really rolled in. Cannot see the mountains anymore. But going to pick up my MIL tomorrow and beforehand going to go and check out a boat place that sells alumacraft boats to see how they are.

Not sure if the picture shows much but here is the smoke around us towards the mountains.

Good evening sunshine for majority of the daylight hours brief rain shower around 6 pm. the temperature did drop some after the rain I think the days high was eighty degrees.
IFF good to read your brother has auto-payment set up for his bills and power of attorney in place. Hopefully your niece can get him to see an eye specialist about the bllack spot. Nice that you were able to get in one last steel head fishing trip with your nephew. Have a safe journey back to Colorado.
Ice Wanderer glad the grandchildren and their friend kept themselves busy and entertained allowing you to do some more work on the fiber optic trench.
Whopper Stopper may you see a break from the heat wave. Sorry to hear about the break-in and burglary at a neighbor's home. Good to read all is well at the shack, thank you for compiling the video.
Hunts2long may your wife have a safe ride to Maine and good weather during her schooner trip. Congratulations to you and Lindsay on the walleyes and small mouth bass.
Wallyworld may it have been a good day on Oneida.
Zcm-28 I hope there might be some items your friend needs among the Sportman's Guide ammo. sale items. glad the river is back to it's normal level best to you with any fishing this weekend.
Eddie sorry the diagnostic test did not show any problems and you have to go back for a more detailed inspection of the transmission and transfer case. Very nice of the shop not to charge you for the test. May everyone enjoy the ball game and Tri-Valley get the win.
Fish/hunt4ever good to hear your MIL is coming home may your SIL and the new baby continue to be in good health. Thank you for the photo.

A good weekend to everyone. Best to all fishing.

                    Good morning ER's,
It's 56* and clear here on my hill. Did anyone see the moon last night. ::)
Marv........Thanks for the video, love to see all the different animals. That bear was on a mission to get somewhere. :woot:
Eddie.......Sorry that the shop couldn't diagnose the transmission problem Thursday. Hopefully Monday they can figure it out.
Steve.......Today should be a dry day for you.
Wally........I'll be looking for your report on your trip out on Oneida yesterday.
H2l...........Good job steering Lindsay to some eyes. :flex: I bet the boat launch will be busy this morning.
Fish..........The smoke is really something out there, we are seeing some haziness from it here in New York. I checked out Alumacraft
boats at Cabela's right before I retired, I should have bought one then. All decked out only $13,000. :woot:
Zcm..........Good score on the expander.
Bud..........Safe travels back to Colorado.
Yesterday I got the topsoil from a local guy, he's been a friend for years. I didn't know he had any but he has diversified his business. He gets
topsoil from his own property, very clean and a good price to boot. I got 3 yards and had it spread by noon seeded and watered.
This morning I'm goint to #2 sons with my site level, he wants to shoot some grades trying to get rain water under control.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning Jeff, Doc, Wally, Morning Everyone,
56* and fairly clear also here this am, high in the upper 70’s today.

Doc…good luck with the fishing trip, hope the skamania surprise you!
Jeff…that’s great you were able to get your topsoil locally from an old friend, glad everything went well with your project!   Good luck shooting the elevations today and getting the drainage under control.   The moon was incredible last evening, enjoyed that all the way home from the ballpark.
Wally…CONGRATULATIONS on the catching, excellent job!!   Hope you and all the riders have a safe trip today…big supporter of Backing The Blue here, hope it’s a huge turnout!!     Thank you, will pass the B’Day wishes on to Emerson today at his party.  ;D
Steve…didn’t realize they were playing a doubleheader yesterday, we missed the first game…they won that one, lost the 2nd. Sure was a nice night for a ballgame though!     Believe your Boulders team will be in town this coming week, planning to see them.
FH4…thanks for sharing the picture, sure is a lot of smoke in the air there! Good luck with the boat search, hope you find what your looking for at a reasonable price!
Marv….thanks for another awesome video, looking forward to sharing that with my granddaughter shortly!    Hope you didn’t find any of those unwanted travelers on your clothing yesterday… :woot:
Bud…hope the roads are clear and the weather is in your favor…have a safe return trip back home!

Had a really nice night out with my girls at the ballpark last evening. My wife had other plans, so it was just my two daughters, a close friend of theirs and my granddaughter. We had seats right behind the teams dugout which was really cool being close to the players. Bought my granddaughter a baseball to have it signed by her favorite player, the team mascot…Southpaw. Caught up to him walking around the concession area and snapped a few pictures of the two of them…made her night complete!!   ;D  We ended up catching 2 T-shirts they toss out into the crowd, that was great!
The icing on the cake was a little girl sitting in front of us with her parents about the same age as my granddaughter. Her Dad almost caught the one shirt that fell in front of me, and with that she was quite sad. We had a little talk with my granddaughter and seeing that she already had one, thought it would be really special to share the other. Took a little coaxing, lol, but we got her to understand and when the little girl turned around, my granddaughter asked her if she would like a shirt. Talk about smiles…it was just great, made her day also!  The parents were so appreciative and thankful….just a great night out at the old ballpark!  ;D
Celebrating my grandson Emerson’s 1st Birthday today…weather should be perfect!
  Cawfee’s still hot…
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Morning H2…glad your wife is having a great trip, hopefully the weather stays nice!

Good day, all. 87° and muggy as all get out, heading for a forecast of 92.

Hit the river just after first light to try for some redhorse and carp, and got into a pretty good mixed bag. I fished from about 530-930am and ended up boating a small carp, 5  nice redhorse, 5 small catfish, a couple little bluegills, a sunfish, a slot walleye, and a baby smallmouth bass, so I can't complain. I ran out of bait, or I would have kept fishing a bit longer.

Kind of glad I didn't, though. It turned miserably hot between 10-11am. Gotta go change the oil in the car, too now that the engine has cooled down, so that'll be fun 🙄

Good day, sunny and in the upper seventies thankfully the humidity level is lower today. I took a quick look at my local newspaper's website this more see the Covid-19 numbers are starting to slowly rise for my county. Officials waiting for test results to be sequenced to see happy many of the new cases are from the Delta variant. Currently around 50 percent of my county's eligible population has been vaccinated . Guess we will have to wait and see where things go in the coming weeks.
Icewanderer nice that you had a local source for the top soil and received a good price for the 3 yards need to complete job at your home. Once you have the site elevations for son#2's property may the two of you figure out a solution to his rain water drainage problem.
Dr.Speckler may you have a good fishing trip. I had to look up Skamania to see what type of fish they were and found out they are a summer migrating strain of Steel head named for a hatchery in Washington were they strain originated .
Wallyworld congratulations to the two of on catching the walleyes glad you had a good day at Oneida. Thank you for sharing the photos. If the weather in area of "Back the Blue" charity ride is similar to mine beautiful day for the event.
Hunts2long good to read your wife is enjoying her schooner trip so far may she and everyone else on the boat have a good trip and hopefully see some aquatic life like dolphins and whales. may the bucks your brother is seeing by his house mean it will be a good hunting season for the two of you this year.
Eddie please pass my birthday wishes onto Emerson. Sorry you missed the first game of last night's double header. Glad you granddaughter was able to get some photos with team mascot "South Paw" and your group also caught a couple T-shirts. Good job by your daughter's and you teaching your granddaughter about acts of kindness and sharing. Enjoy next weeks game .
Whopper Stopper thank you for posting Eddie's photos from the baseball game. may it be a little cooler in your area of Minnesota today.
Zcm-28 congratulations on a good fishing trip and your mixed bag of fish. Nice relaxation after your busy work week.
IFF once you are safely home please check you Ice shanty personal message In-box. I sent you a message with the name and link to website of an organization my Sister and I made a couple of donations to og clothing and small household items when cleaning out our house before selling it. Nice thing about this organization is you arrange a pick up date and time and they will come to you to pick up your donation and leave a receipt for tax deduction.
Everyone have a safe and good weekend.

It's 61* and raining. I knew it was to good to be true to have 3 days in a row without rain. ::)
Eddie..........I'm glad you had a nice time at the game with all the girls. I'm glad to read that your granddaughter finally
realized the importance of sharing, and she made a friend. :flex: Happy Birthday to Emerson.
Wally...........Good job out on Oneida. :flex: It must have been bike day, I saw about 100 bikes riding in my town, in the front was one bike
carrying a flag but I couldn't read it, unless your riders made it this way? ???
Marv............The photos you posted for Eddie were great, thank you for doing it. :flex:
Zcm............Good job on catching the fish, glad you could get out.
H2l..............I'm glad your wife is having a good time, hopefully they can sail clear of this weather.
Steve...........I hope we can stay away from mask mandates, this Delta variant is sure on the surge. :cookoo:
Yesterday at my sons, we shot a lot of grades and finally came to the conclusion that the grade is OK but the material in the driveway needs
upgrading and a swale need to be added to get the water to go where he wants it to go.
Today I am suppose to put a frost proof faucet in for my neighbor.
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out. Stay safe and Healthy.

Good Morning Jeff, Wally, Morning Everyone,
We had some showers move in overnight, looks like it’s going to start again any minute. 63* this am with a high of 79 today.

Marv…Thank You so much for posting the pictures for me, very much appreciated Sir!!
Jeff…glad you were able to get all the elevations figured out and the solution for your sons drainage problem. Best of luck with that and the faucet today!
Wally…what an awesome turnout for the ride, must have sounded like rolling thunder!! Glad you had a beautiful day for it, thanks for sharing the pictures with us!!  :callcops:
Z…excellent job on the catching, thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thank you all for Emerson’s Birthday wishes and the kind words for Kennidy sharing the shirt…very much appreciated!  Again my thanks to you Marv for posting the pictures, sorry about the extra messages going through yesterday!
Very nice time with Emerson’s 1st B’Day yesterday. They held the party at a park near my sons house which had a big pavilion, a playground for the little ones and a town pool that was open with lifeguards on duty if anyone wanted to swim. Weather was perfect, not too hot and plenty of sunshine.
Got a call from another ex-coworker yesterday wondering if I would be interested in working for a company he is now with. Haven’t heard anything on that other job as far as a start up date, so I accepted his offer with the understanding that it may only be short term. Starting  tomorrow on a brick job they have going building a bank.
  Cawfee’s on…
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

64* and light rain.
Eddie, nice pictures, thanks.
ZCM, good to see your pictures. I should learn to go out earlier in the day when its HOT.
WW, congrats on the win. I saw a large group of bikes about 3:30. Must have been well over 150. Not sure what they were riding for, didn't see any signs.
Yesterday morning about 10, I went by the launch. There were about 20/25 boats waiting to launch, one of them was NOT me.
Talking to Lindsay yesterday she said she won't mow her lawn, she saw another SNAKE. So I took Scout, went to the hardware store and got a bag of Snake-Away and took it too her. When I got there she said "you come to mow my lawn", I said NO, I got you this. Watched to dogs run around, put some Snake-Away around the garage, had a glass of Kool-Aid and came home. About 4:30 she called and said guess what, she had mowed her lawn and not saw a snake. I told her "aren't Dads great". We all know, she will see another SNAKE at some point.
Talked to the wife for just a minute last night. They had a great day of sailing, lobster bake on shore for dinner.
By the way did anyone happen to see the end of you Yankee game yesterday....h2l

:%$#!: :%$#!:Good morning. Made the 1300 plus mile trip back to Denver  but might have jinked myself saving  no break downs with the RV, pulled over about hour and half from the house and disaster struck .  In the form of the shifter was locked in park  :%$#!: :%$#!: :cookoo: :cookoo: Quick google that problem with a Ford and sure enough it’s happened to someone else.  Tried the fix to unlock it to no Avail callled for roadside assistance and that turned out that mobile mechanics on this late Saturday afternoon were not available.   Next step would be having it towed to a dealership that of course was closed for the weekend.  I had taken a shortcut off the interstate and about 15 miles from that dealership in Ft Collins. Got a text that a towing company was being dispatched and the wait time would be 180 to 210 minutes. And that I should arrange for a ride other than the tow truck  :%$#!: :%$#!:  So went back to trying to free it up, must have Held my mouth just right it released and away I go. Getting home just before dark, wanted to drop off the boat trailer, and if you get out to see if you have it where you want it,  of course you put in in park. Oops bad idea it’s locked again, so you can understand leave it until the dark spell passes  oh, one other thing I noticed ??? No hazard lights or dash lights sigh

Got some sleep and now don’t feel as brain dead.  I need a strong coffee please

Morning all, currenly 85° and sunny here, with a forecast high of 90. Had some severe storms roll through just before and around dark last  night. No damage here, but several tornadoes were reported in the county. I took advantage of the freshly wet ground to go pick some nightcrawlers before bed... I was almost out, so the timing on the rain was actually pretty good. 😁

IFF - hope you get the RV straightened out asap.

WS - wish we had as many turkeys around here as you. We do have some, but they're not real plentiful. They did open a turkey season here around 15 years ago, but given the locations I have available for me to hunt, I don't think the slim chances of bagging one are worth the price of a tag.

h2l - I hate being outside in the summer heat, so early morning or late evening are when I do almost all of my boat fishing. Finding me out on the water between 11am-5pm is about as rare as hen's teeth, unless we have an unseasonable cool day.

Good evening, pleasant day until around 6 Pm when a thunderstorm came through check weather forecast might see more storms during over night hours. While checking my local forecast saw there was a tornado/tornadoes in the Detroit,Michigan area causing property damage prayer said for all affected by this event.
Ice wanderer glad you and son#2 were able to figure out the water drainage problem on his property and come up with a plan to correct the problem. I agree about not waiting to see a return to face mask mandates think there would be a lot of public resistance.
Wallyworld i have similar concerns on what we will see with regards to Covid for the remainder of this year. Good to hear there was a good turnout for the "Back the Blue" ride.
Eddie glad the weather was good for Emerson's birthday party. I guess with the size of your personal, extended family and friends  a large space was needed to hold the party. Best to you with the new job hopefully it turns into long term employment.
Hunts2long may regular application of the Snake Away product help limit their presence on Lindsay's property. Sounds like so far your wife is having a great time on her trip.
IFF glad your safely back home. may the RV problem have a simple fix.
whopper Stopper nice you got a brief break from the higher humidity. The weather might be causing your game camera problems. Hopefully the the mother turkey is alright and you spot her in your yard in coming days.
Zcm-28 it seems to be a Summer for servere weather  i hope the tornadoes did not cause major damage and loss of life.

Have a good and safe night.
 Steve
