How's the fishing on sandy pond?
-
Make 1 more post and you can read the reports and conditions page.. I fished it two weeks ago and perch bite was super SLOW
-
yeah at that rate you might as well go the extra distance and try Chaumont
-
Fished it today it was slow. Got a few medium bluegills, only 2 perch, and lost 2 crappies at the top of the hole.
-
It has been slow all season for me and some other guys fishing it. I wont be going back for a while.
-
Ok. Thanks. Might try up there next weekend
-
I believe I'll be making the drag out of the elms tomorrow. I'll send a report if I can make it out there with all this snow
-
Id love to go back but theres alot of fresh snow. Bite was real slow there for me last werk. Deep snow the drag beat me up.
-
Yea you're looking at around foot and a half of powder. Really slow bite. :(
-
Snowmobiles only. I got lucky and caught a ride out yesterday by the nice guy from the madriver club that has that big kabota 4x4 with tracks, not so lucky was dragging my clam back to shore. I was hitting snow up to my knees at times also a lot of slush. My left arm went numb several times, i am pretty sure i blacked out once or twice....did catch and release a huge smallmouth. Caught about 10 8 inches or better. A ton of dinks. Got to chit chat with my buddy STU! At least it was warm and little wind.
-
Did you go out?
-
yeah I went out saturday. the bite was a little better. lots of snow, very tough drag. sluch under the snow.

Sooooo you're saying you went out? On the ice? ::)
-
went out of green point today, crusty snow with some slushy spots, but overall not so bad,
got into the crappies a little, finally caught enough for a meal, but just, pulled a 20 inch pike out on a jigging rod too, that was fun!!]
-
Anyone know what kind of condition the pond is in after all the storms? Im going to GP wed just wondering how much snow I get to look forward to. I was there twice last week and there was about a foot of snow and it was a tough drag out.
-
4-8 in of snow on the ice at GP,
-
I hope it's not all to bad up there. We are taking our yearly fishing trip up there this weekend.
-

How does the scoring work?
-
Pike and perch both have 1st 2nd and 3rd places and are judged by length weight is the tie breaker. Panfish king only has one winner and consist of "bluegill, pumpkinseed, sunfish, and crappie" 5 fish judged by total weight tie breaker is combined length of all 5 fish and will have the same payout as a 1st place pike or perch
Youth divisions are pike and perch 1st 2nd and 3rd places youth will receive trophies
-
how do i register for the tournament ?
-
You can pre register Friday night at the sandy pond sportsman association 6pm-8pm or Saturday (day of the derby) at the sportsmans club 5am-1pm. The event is going to be headcourtered out of the Sandy Pond Sportsman Association. Boggey I still have tickets available
-
obrien I watched your video and looked at the flyer. But what time is weigh-in?
-
Weigh in by 4:30 I posted the rules and regs once before but when you register all info is on your half of the registration that way you have the rules with you
-
The wayside inn is also having a two day tournament on the pond this weekend.
-
....
-
boggey...you are a true diehard brother....be careful out there
-
Yes Jim be careful, SUNY Oswego just cancelled classes, a rare occurrence. There must be blizzard conditions near the lake. perch
-
Clear here in mexico, just a tad nippy!
-
Looking at the temps and the wind. I got to be nuts to even think about going out today. So, guess what? I am nuts. Real old school today guys and gals. The Sandy Creek Fire Department and The Wayside are having their tournaments this week end. I feel as if someone should make a report today on conditions. That one guy out from the Wig-Wam on snow shoes sitting on his pail snuggled up in his old Eddy Bauer snorkel with the wind at his back will be the nutty fisherman, moi. Better news is the weather for Saturday looks to be a heck of an improvement and I would encourage all to get out and support the fire department and the local businesses.
Jboggey1...try to find someone with a snowmobile so you can tow a shanty out there today...sitting on a bucket? Dangerous cold out there today....they might get the wind strength wrong. Stay safe
-
gonna head out around noon,i have a sled, ill tow a shanty out there for you if you want.
-
I looked at some snow shoes today, but i know whats gonna happen, i blow a hundred bucks on them, wear them tomorrow for the derby, makes it a tad easier, then sunday it warms up and rains and i never use the snowshoes again...i just wont walk as far! Got me three of those raffle tickets when i signed up tonight!
-
Thanks for the report BOGGEY, your tenacity is motivating, your a true warrior..! You sure have taught us slightly younger pups a thing or 2...
-
Just got back from the Elms,
got there at 7,wind was rippin!and it didn't really stop
fishin wasn't horrible for once,lol
10 keeper perch and a 22" pike
started snowin bout noon, just to add to the misery, was startin to get deep when I left at 2.30
it was a good day on the pond, even though the weather sucked!(http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz285/redipsekud/231.jpg) (http://s836.photobucket.com/user/redipsekud/media/231.jpg.html)

Yo Choo Choo and BigSunny.
Glad to hear from you both. Yup. I am getting older and even if the brain is not cognizant, the body is ready to relent. The cold never bothers me. I can dress for anything. It is the getting to and fro that bothers me. Sad this season has developed as it has. You don't have to be old to regret the formation of the ice field this year. I am sure it has kept a lot of you younger fellas at home as well.
At any rate, till I can get an easy ride or access by my 4 wheeler I am going to listen to my body and not my brain. I am going to act my age. I will have to consult with Tank and Wert to find out how they process this.
Conditions this year have gotten nasty JBoggey. Better day's are coming. :) :) :)
-
jim boogey im closer to73 than 72! i can still climb atree for deer, but dont like to walk on ice anymore!my 4x4runs butit must stay home until acouple of thaws. I HANDLE THIS AGE THING BY CLOSING MY EYES AND REMENBERING MANY MANY MANY GOOD TIMES I HAVE HAD IM TRULY BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS .THANK YOU LORD FOR MY GOOD HEALTH AND LONGEVITY!!!!!
-
Fished the Elms today with my son,--first time with the new pop up shanty--just a handful of people out there--the persistent winds and snow/slush combination made it pretty brutal dragging our sled, setting up and taking down. Caught some dink and medium-size perch on spikes/minnows at 8 feet. Lost a pike who grabbed a minnow on my ultralight and broke me off. Finally exited our toasty shack to face a heavy windy snow, and a dozen gulls closing in on our fish. Much thanks to the guys who gave us a ride and a tow back to the lot after seeing us struggle in the knee deep snow. That gave us a second wind for the long snowy drive back. Some great folks out there!
-
Fished it with my daughter yesterday left out of wigwam about 7 am. The walk out was great, nice and packed only a few inches to walk through. After shoveling an area for the shanty setting up tip up/downs, caught about 6 keepers and a pile of dinks. Wind was bad, snow was bad good thing i had my daughter with me, on the drag back i was sinking upmto my knees everymstep, she could walk right on top and did most of the dragging. Didnt even have anything to turn in for the sandy creek fd derby, biggest was one 10 inch perch. It was still a good time with my daughter.
-
Had a great time yesterday at the SCFD derby. My son Alex won the youth pike and my buddy Bruce won panfish king with a mixed bag of crappies and gills. Hope to do it again next year.
-
Congrayz 870comp for bringing Alex and to you Alex and Bruce for out fishing 870Comp. haha. Also TommyBoy congratulations for being tough enough to get out there on a day like yesterday. A good thing you had Bryn with you to drag you back in haha.
Thanks JBoggey! I should have picked a better username! It should have been 870Tom.
-
JUst got layed off,now I have time to fish the way I want,
weather is gonna suck for a few days looks like,
guess ill have to man up,lol
might do the crappie thing tonight!
-
Tommy, nice to hear that you were able to get out Saturday, especially with the kid. Sounds like she made the difference getting you back in to shore, we all know how that is. Unfotunately for me, that job thing keeps getting in the way of that fishing thing. Was there a good turnout for the Derby? I'm gonna miss out the next 2 weeks as well, gonna check out the ice in FLA for a week. I'll be thinking of you and Boggey while next to the pool. ;D ;D
-
Yeah, i about stroked out. Not a lot of people fishing that I could see, as a matter of fact there was one shanty out when it started, another guy stopped me in his car and asked if the derby was still on. I didnt even go to the wiegh in, so I am not sure what the total turn out was.
-
gonna try South Cowwel today, went by yesterday, roads not plowed witch means no ones been in there for a while
just bringing the snowmobile, nills, bait puck,1 jigging rod,
will report back later
-
I fished it back in january caught a bunch of small gills that went back down the hole
-
Anyone on the pond today? Thinking about making the drag tomorrow hows it look?
-
went to south cowwel today, mistake big mistake, got the sled stuck 3 times, lots of slush down in there!!
all I got out of was a sore body, wet clothes, and some experience,
-
How much slush? Is it like that all over the pond?
-
didn't make it to the north pond, cowwel is bout a mile north, was gonna hit it but after that I was too sore and wet to do it,
tomorrow is another day
-
Thanls Boggy,glad to help,LOL
-
Saturday is gonna be good ;D
-
Husband and I drove to the pond today lots of snow and not one person fishing. :P
-
I was there before sun up and after sun down. 3 others popped up late afternoon. I found some nice slush.
-
Nice slush?only nice slush comes in a cup with cherry syrup on it,lol
-
My way of saying as it warms...bring a float. Its deep. Anyone ever had a problem with sleds running over tip ups on the pond? Had a close call. My buddy managed to stop him. He was that close to the shanty running through 15 tip ups. Must have been drunk because he gave him a nice pat on the back and the idiot almost fell off. I have very little respect for a snowmobile that has no gear in tow.
-
I got ya loso just kiddin, where were you fishin at,
I personally havnt had any proplems with sleds, yet
slush is just gonna get worse before it gets better I believe,
-
Greene Point. Seems that if you can brave the drag past most of the old holes you could stay drier.
-
think ill wait till conditions, improve, allready had my fun in the slush,
theres a tournament today on the pond,
most likely get some reports later
Good luck to all out there today,
spending time with the grankids this weekend,so no fishin for me till mon
-
What derby?
-
Christeen Reed Memorial
-
Snap! Thought it was next weekend
-
my mistake,sorry,
-
Fished the Pond Saturday for northerns. Did pretty well #'s wise. Walking was ok in the morning, worse as temps rose. Some spots worse than others. Did not see any wheelers, but did see sleds around. Thanks to JBogg for some info on parking, etc. Always a good time on the Pond.
-
fished the Elms today, got 7 keepers in the first hour, then zippo!slush is getting worse by the minute, stayed on top on the way out, punchin threw on the way back in
got stuck in the parking lot, that was fun,pay 5 bucks, beat the crap out of my truck tryin to get out
but anyway,gonna hit GP later

I'm hoping to bring my son out to GP this Saturday for the derby. Please let me know how bad the slush is. He does not have insulated rubber boots.
-
should be ok for the weekend, temps are goin down again,
I wouldn't go out there without good boots, definetly wouldn't take a kid out there without em,just sayin
-
I wouldn't even think of taking any kids without insulated waterproof boots.
-
The boots are more important than the fish. I learned it and I preach it.
-
fished The Elms and GP yesterday, conditions vary, hardpack, drifts, slush pockets, doubt it for wheelers still
10 keeper perch at The Elms,3 keeper crappie at GP,(enough for lunch today)
anyone fished South Pond lately?thinkin bout tryin it tomorrow
-
Thank you everyone for the slush reports, I appreciate it. Looks like we will be catching a movie instead.
-
Just curious if anyone had an update for the conditions off Greene point after the warm up the last two days. Thinking about going later this afternoon
-
Went out saturday and it was quite hard still not much slush to the center. Going beyond that there was a rather slushy patch. Nothing of any size saturday
-
just wondered how did tourney go on sat on sandy pond? nobody has said.I was out and got two pike on jig poles.
-
Can anyone give an update on the walk out from gp or elms...thinking about trying it in the morning
-
Walk out of GP was ok,5 crappie, and 2 pike last night,
-
To the people leaving your trash on the ice at GP,Ill be watchin today,if I see you doin it,im gonna report your sorry a_ _s

You are wasting your time. Those that are leaving the trash, "don't know how to read"...h2l
-
Yea,i know,just ventin,lol,picked up some more today,
as long as people fish, there will be trash,
GP was not kind to me today, fished 9-3,not 1 keeper,
-
Duke how was the pond today. Did you bring your sled out? I'm itching to get back out. Thanks again for the tow yesterday. I got it back up and running. Bad coil.
-
walked all round GP today, didnt bring the sled,
didn't catch much today,,found that GP is a late day place,
actually saw a wheeler on the ice today!
good to hear you got it runnin,
got all week off,let me know if you wanna go,here or there.
-
Other then Saturday I can take anytime off. Think Oneida may be rough for a while. Don't think sleds will make it back in after a few hours of sun. IF we can do sleds on the pond we can try bogeys honey hole
-
Bogey may have something to say bout that!!lol
seen a sled towin a permy off today, not sure how it will be tomorrow, was getting soft on the way out today
-
Duke I'm kind of thinking maybe fishing Oneida south shore tomorrow morning. Getting on early and getting off before lunch. My spot is about 1/4 mile from where my sled was. I have a nice platform there from all the holes I have been drilling out there.
-
Truth be said,im kinda leary bout the slush, supposed to rain tonight,
my back is just getting healed from my last slushy nightmare!lol
thanks,good luck tomorrow!
-
Now that sounds like fun! we could have our own little tourney,S
-
Now that sounds like fun! we could have our own little tourney,Smallest perch wins, lol(caught a 2 1/2 incher yesterday at GP)
-
we don't have much time though(just saw some robins in the front yard,)
-
Depending on my work schedule I would try it.
-
Boggey,
I am up for use last hurrah! Let me know when....
-
Sounds like a plan! Was supposed to be gone the next two weeks for work, but that didnt pan out. So i got a couple more weeks to try and catch some fish before the ice goes. When it goes its gonna be quick!
-
Anybody at go right now?
-
I went to GP today and the slush was not horrible, shin deep in some spots , ankle most places. Between two of us we caught 150 dinks 3 to 4 inches. 4 keepers at around 8 inches and one 28 inch pike.

-
just talked to the boss, got 2 more weeks till work starts up again,WOOHOO!
ill be out there hoping to prove Bogeys theory correct,
what are we gonna name this get together?
maybe we could make it a annuall event?
on another note, put my cam down at gp,seen hundreds of perch (mostly smalls)top to bottom
so it may pick up
-
Are all the pond regulars seasonal workers?! Why so barren on weekdays. I must be in the wrong spot haha. Ive done good been about 6 times this year. Where do you guys hide out?
-
Loso, the rest of us know that if Boggey is traveling the fishing is slow on the pond!!
-
The Pond still produces some nice fish
(http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz285/redipsekud/001_1.jpg) (http://s836.photobucket.com/user/redipsekud/media/001_1.jpg.html)(http://i836.photobuck

pond has been producing good crappies and nice gills and sunfish ....I really don't understand why people don't fish for whats there instead of dreaming of years past setting on vacant water ...but that's how I see it
-
pond has been producing good crappies and nice gills and sunfish ....I really don't understand why people don't fish for whats there instead of dreaming of years past setting on vacant water ...but that's how I see it
well said Trap
its all about the perch,pike,
had my fill of vacant water this year, thats fer sure!
-
biggest gill I ever seen was caught on sandy pond .... and since I was a kid when perch got slow we would hit the weeds lot of slob gills and you'd be surprised how many shallow perch !
now i'm on the soap box I get to say my opinion...I don't think sandy pond got fished out , I don't think the mouth got filled in ...I never believed perch came in from the big lake anyways ...I think they live there year round .... I think the lake Ontario perch are simple on a low cycle ...sandy pond isn't the only spot that's not prodoucing well.
another thing is people got spoiled to drilling a hole and catching a limit in the matter of 2 hours .... that type of fishing is never going to last for ever
since I was a kid .....and that was a few years ago some tears the pond prodouced others it doesn't ,highs and lows ,this year is a low and it might be for awhile sodus isn't kicking out limits like it did in the past neither is fair heaven ....
my suggestion is easy set the tip ups out try the outside for perch if nothing come to the inside and get a diner of gills
-
could never fish out the Pond, but im gonna go try in a couple hours, lol
gonna see if the low b-pressure thing pans out
seen some big gills come out of the Pond too,but biggest that ive caught was out of the reservoir, believe it or not!!
-
Im also seasonal. Spent alot of time on the pond mostly in the hunt of my pike. Pulled some above average pike and some really fat 30 inch pickerel. Got some nice perch but not consistent. The past 2 trips have been loaded with surprises ill take any day.
-
had a couple of 4 species days on the pond, pike perch, gills, crappie,
learned a lot this year, even though its been slow.
got ehough for a meal last night, wind came up,was rainin to
ice is still good, pretty slick commin off last night, creepers would have been nice
(http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz285/redipsekud/147.jpg) (http://s836.photobucket.com/user/redipsekud/media/147.jpg.html)

It only gets better
-
Unfortunately looking like a busy week this week for me, hopefully ice holds for next week to get out one last time ::). I need to hook up with Tommy again so he can continue to school me, this time on the Crappie. That'll be a new one for me. His help certainly proved meat worthy this winter for some pike. Thanks Tom. If there is one last hoorah keep it posted so that I can make time, especially since I had to miss the 2-man. I certainly appreciate all the info you fellas keep posted at the pond. Being out of town it sure makes a difference when making plans to head for the camp. You can take the boy away from the Pond but not the Pond away from the boy. Whoever made the comment "once the ice starts going it goes fast" has certainly been there done it. Be safe!! Thanks again to all!!
-
Last outing on the pond the ice was plenty thick. I found some over 30 inches. I did venture to Chaumont last night and found some 6 inch ice and muddy water. Was pushing close to current but I can now see the runoff is reaching the lake heavy.
-
ice is the best its been all year, still some good fishin on The Pond
-
Jboggey's grandson Ian's first Pike 30 inch Monster! great job!
(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/DeathRUSH/GEDC0176_1.jpg) (http://s4.photobucket.com/user/DeathRUSH/media/GEDC0176_1.jpg.html)

Nice!thats something he will remember for ever!
catchin pike on a jigging rod is great fun!not easy either,2#test too!!

-
Awesome pike Ian! Nice assist Boggey!
Still on for a pond rendezvous? Saturday?
-
im in for sat,ill be there anyways, lol
weather is callin fir partly sunny, with a chance of snow and rain showers, mid 30s
all I need is where and when
-
Nice pike! I bet he's glad he braved the weather.
-
Congrats Ian on your very nice pike. You must have really enjoyed catching it on the jigging rod. Remember the most important thing is that you are fortunate enough to be able to get out and enjoy yourself with your granpdad.Very nice picture and the pike looks good also.
-
Strong work Ian! And by the looks of that smile he had just as much fun bringing it in as Grandpa did helping. Like you said, its all about the time spent and I think with that catch you just bought yourself some added time JBog. Congrats to both of you.
Nice work Tommyboy
-
Anyone on the pond today?
-
I was,2 keepers fished 9-2,pretty windy,1 other guy out there doin the bucket thing,
thinkin bout hittin GP,
-
Pretty easy going? Thinking of heading out tomorrow making sure its nice and hard. As cold as it is I picture an easy drag. Ice still tthick?
-

good luck tommorrow with you know what. im heading for some laker browns and salmon fishing. i think were supposed to have those northwest winds again tommorrow if so ill settle in 5 fto water and target fins pike and perch. lol
-
ice is perfect, towed the shanty with 1 hand, might need your creepers
-
Saturday is lookin rough, rain and snow with 10-20 mph winds, gusts up to 35
-
Thanks fishy. Thats what im headed for. That and to get better with the marcum. Good luck on your outing.
-
Boggey,
Nice to have finally met you. Just 2 keeper perch. We took off before dark Nice bass other than that more dinks. It was nice to have an easy drag finally. Im wondering how much longer the ice will hold. I want to see the bite turn on.
-
Boggey,
Are there any good marinas up there that let you pay to use the launch for the whole season? I'll never try making it across the bay in my boat again. Got caught in ten foot waves on the way in. No fun in my little bass boat. Lesson probably not learned...I seem to have been there done that in Chaumont years prior.
-
Boggey, Get well soon! I also want to publicly thank you for putting me on the fish today. You have always been so unselfish when it comes to leading your friends to a good day of fishing.
Thanks again, Big Sunny
-
Im planning on going out for one last trip tomorrow I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what condition GP is in. Is the shore line still good? I have not gotten out in a few weeks.
-
shoreline is hard as a rock!,wheelers are good togo, glare mixed with patches if snow, creepers are a good idea
fishin sucks, just sayin, late afternoon is best
-
as duke said everything is solid. i have been fishing for gills and doing pretty good. very small jig and spikes. off bottom about 2-3 ft. drop to bottom and all i catch is dink perch.
-
Boggey I hope you get heeled up quick. That does not sound like fun.
-
bogey, kinda know how you feel, chashin the grankid around the other day,hit the coffe table with my left foot, sent my pinkey toe at a 90!whole side of my foot is bruised, :%$#!:
-
Thanks guys good to hear. Yeah the bite has been the same all season for me gills and crappie. Im glad I got a marcum this year it sure has helped with the flat fish.
-
Where is this place at and town ty
-
Sandy Creek, Green Point Marina off of rt 3 north of Pulaski
-
There are a few different places on the pond to fish as well, off of the Elms golf course and down by the Wigwam
-
geeezzzz bog hate hearing that ..... look if you and you lady need some help please pm me or call me buddy
-
Thanks Trap. I am being more careful now. I don't heal as fast as I used to.
well you need anything let me know .....
-
I'm headed today myself ....searching for silver once it warms so my line isn't all ice ;D
-
im thinkin the perch bite is pickin up a little, got into a few yesterday, ice today, river tomorrow
-
green point today. 2-7 pm. 26 keeper gills 6-1/2 to 8 inch. 1 perch 10 in. measured 16 in. of ice creepers needed. good meeting you today duke 14
-
went tp GP yesterday, managed a dozen or so nice perch, most were 10,11 inchers, best ive done all year on the perchies
nice meeting you fishfetcher,
-
I was on the pond best day all year yesterday. 40 inch pike on a jig rod. He spooled me and I got him back. Dozen keeper perch.
-
seen a monster pike swim under me,ive caught plenty of pike, this one made my jaw drop!!
I know they always look bigger than they are,but damn!!that was big!
-
Biggest pike I caught to date. Don't waste time on pictures with all the idiots on the forum running theyre mouths. He was awesome. Instead of his face I just saw his back taking up my hole on the first few glimpses. He didn't want to nose up. That made him loom enormous I was screaming haha. What a blast! There's some big fins schooling pretty hard im sure you noticed that.
-
that's pretty cool loso, lots of fun on a jigging rod!!probly took a few minutes to land, didnt it?
don't need no stinkin steel leader!!
-
loso that is awesome ...you and duke deserve a good day out there you two earned it
-
every day I can get out is a good day for me Trap!!I complain, say the fishin sucks, weather isn't cooperating,
but its still fun,
thrill of the hunt I guess!
-
got a feelin, after this rain,(if the ice holds up!)fri and sat gonna be some good fishin
we shall see!! :icefish:
-
I think I'd be walking with a spud and keeping a eye on gas holes opening up and the shore line
-
Never seen the ice on the pond this late but I want to get out again. I was hand drilling 8 I need to get the 6 inch back out. I lucked out having a steel leader I was looking for fins. He almost chewed through it. I did nail a fin on a tiny tungsten. 2 lb test no leader. 26 in. awesome fight as well. Both took more than 15 min to land. Ice still holding up for the weekend maybe? Duke ill trade some secrets to know how to get them damn craps. Been on the pond all year not one...but never focused either.
-
sure im no expert, but ill be there this after noon and tommorrow
-
Good Morning, so by the sounds of your statement Duke, there must still be good ice for tomorrow? Still debating on heading that way tonight or in the morning. Is there still access from the Wigwam and down in front of the Sportsmans Club? Or is that opening up? Hoping to get some fish in the bucket in the morning and get some framing work done on the camp aftrewords. Jim, how ya feeling? Like I said I will be in the area tomorrow so if you need a hand feeding or shoveling excrement, let me know. I'm right around the corner. Be safe!
-
I didn't check the wigwam or the sportsmans club.but pretty sure its good to go,
-
I would imagine creepers are in order with the weather we have been having. How much slush and water on top can I plan on finding when I get there?
-
def need creepers,1/2-1" water, depends where you are
-
Ice still holding up? Thinking about making the drag at sun up

Best day yet this season!
-
Did not get that many, but even I got a few today. I was my best day out too. My big problem was I could not keep the darn northern off my jigs. I lost two Swedish pimples and 3 jigs to them. Even got a nice large mouth too.
-
damn the wind!!guess ill do stuff around the house today :'( :'(
-
still a good amount of ice out there Boggey, ide be out there now if the wind wasn't blowin 30-40 mph!!
-
Thanks for the info last week Duke. Glad I made the trip up. The bit of snow made for a decent trek out, the wind in the face on the other hand..... ::) Even with a slow start to the morning I had the best day this year. Although my daughters couldn't make it due to several sports commitments, my father did join me. I was however able to Bring home enough for dinner as well as few for the freezer. NICE! I was second guessing my decision as I battled the wind while putting up my shanty, but then all was good. It seemed like when they came they came big and plenty. I was surprised at the amount of ice still on. I think I may be paying extra for boat storage this spring.
As always thanks to all for your information and making this another great year on the ice, minus the fish. ;)
I came home with a good days catch and got some work done on the camp.
Be safe!

Back at the elms around sun up..whose braving the pond tomorrow?
-
Everyone watch out near the docks at Greene point. Went through twice.
-
There are some thin areas that may be open water shortly off the elms. Alot of wheeler activity. Surprised to see so many machines out.

i would like to continue to read all of your post but that will only happen if you all get the heck off the ice to many have gone through and some have died its not worth what it will do to your families
-
Thanks for all the tips. Had a great winter on the pond. I pulled a good size bag of trash including propane tanks off tuesday. Can't wait to have my boat out on the pond. Learned not to play around in the bay with it last year. Been hitting the trout spots now. No more ice for me. Good luck guys and enjoy the warm weather. Whats mff?
