52's Pics of Glory
« on: Jul 23, 2014, 08:38 AM »
Since I'm new, I thought I'd toss in some randoms until season starts.

My "open water" opener..

The Juke out on South Twin

44" out of LOTWs

and after.....

Playing with The Slammer

Out on the Cisco Chain with the JAG

New Toy for the Ice

And yes, tracked ATV's can get stuck...in 20" of slush.

Great pics, thanks for sharing

How did you get that stuck tracked up ATV out? Looks like it froze in pretty tight.

Welcome aboard

Its was a major pain in the keester and took 2 days to get it out and off the ice. I rode off our landing and not even 100yds off it felt like I hit a wall with the ATV. Sunk in immediately and because it was -12, froze in. Took 4 of us and my old JAG to get it out. First we took 2x6 planks and pried it up, then used firewood to shore it up out of the ice. Problem was, the front axles both snapped and I lost 4wd. So we tied my sled to the hitch, tossed it in R high, and pulled it to the landing. The front tracks were frozen solid and took over 6 hours with heaters on them to thaw out to the point where they spun.

Polaris covered it under warranty, so I did the next best thing and bought a Warn 3500lb winch, which I had my dealer install when the axle damage was being fixed.

My old sled is finding a new home with my bro

Warm day yesterday, but we have 9" of a combination of crusty and solid ice.
