Went out to Church Slough today with some guys from church. Pretty slow. Between a dozen guys there were only about a half dozen perch and 2 pike caught. Don't know how some of the others that we saw there did. Looks like it was tough all over today. Will try again somewhere later this week.

Where is this lake located ?
-
It is a slough/oxbow off the Flathead River between Kalispell and Flathead Lake. For access from shoreside you would take Lower Valley Road either from 93/Willow Glen Rd. or from hwy 83. Lower Valley goes right by the slough. There is kind of a wide spot with a dirt boat launch and then a county access on some private land. Today was the first time I had ice fished there. I go there in the summer with the boat from Sportsmans Bridge. Here is the link to the FWP info about it - http://fwp.mt.gov/fishing/guide/q_Church_Slough__1141899481504_0_1.aspx
There are Bass, Pike, and Perch in there. Some very nice Pike and Bass. Anyway, if you head there it was pretty slow today but have heard it can be decent. Must not be too bad usually because the Perch Assault is having a deal there soon.
Later.

How much ice ?
-
There was a good 7 inches. Some of the guys brought their 4-wheelers, so it was fine.

The Perch Assault Invitational tourney is on the slough next weekend...Jan. 24-25 potentially 30 teams of two guys out there....
So they are after Perch, but they will keep pike if they get em...
