Today we got out to look for the elusive brook trout, after enduring some snow storm and white out conditions on the higway we ski'd into the lake and found the ice to be less than great. Very slushy. we would sink down a good 2 or three inches before hitting the "good ice" which was plenty thick at about 10 inches. we fished in a few different spots with no luck. we found a couple of old holes and my buddy suggested we re-open and try them out (I dont normally do this unless theres some blood near by but thought what the heck). after opening the holes we found out that is was pretty shallow. like not even 2 feet deep. "ahh well we'll give it a shot and then we'll go home", we thought.
5 minutes of jigging and I got this 16incher.
very nice fish. all in all it was a good day. another lake off the list.
on to the next one
