Everyone needs to go to this Derby, Bring your kids. Last year I think about every kid won at least a little something. This is a great Derby with a super group of people running it. And on top of that, it benefits on great cause!!!! I am already hiding in the woods to see where they put all those nice trout, gonna be cold out tonight!!!!!

Last year every kid won something.  This year every kid will win something as well.  Plus most of the kids that enter the casting contest will win something.  Lots of great adult prizes this year also.

Can we keep the snowmobilers off the ice when we are fishing? They were racing all around us and nearly cleaned some kids out and some of our traps

I'm surprized the state won't give em a warden for the day, considering it's a youth event. That might help the cause.

Scott made a great point.  I cant keep the sleds off the ice when all the icefisherman use sleds also.  I can however ask them not to race up and down the lake.  i thought we did a fairly good job last year asking people not to race up and down the lake.  I dont think the wardens want to come to this derby for some reason.  I asked last year and they said they would see what the can do.  They were a no show.

If you plan on sleeping on the ice. plan on not sleeping at all.  Last year there were a group of 50 people partying till 2 that morning.  Then people started to show up around 2:30 for the derby.

It gets bigger and better every year.

I didn't think the racing was too bad last year, the rough ice conditions on the first half the lake helped to slow that down. You want to see some speed freaks and get down right ugly about it, watch the Little Ossipee Derby   ::)

This is a great derby and I've met great people every year. I really encourange everyone to go!
