The annual Pine Tree Camp Derby is Feb 16 with the weigh in at Sweet Dreems Sore in Smithfield rt8. They have tagged pike and Brown Trout worth $500 ea in Great Pond and North Pond. Ist, 2nd,3rd place prizes for Pike, Pickerel, White perch, Brown Trout, crappie , Lg and Sm bass . Lots of door prizes with the grand prize a brand new ice fishing shack. For information call 431-4941 or 431-2780. Lots of free stuff for the kids. This is for a great place and one of the best derbys in the state.

CDC - Thanks for the info.  I am torn now!  Little O with the kids or Deer Pond with the kids.  Have you heard if Deer Pond will be re-stocked for the kids derby?

If the temp are going to be ok, then we'll do the kids derby at Deer pond...
 Then head out early to be home to watch the 500...

2 awesome fishing derbys in central maine this weekend saturdays pine tree camp it help the kids so get ut tickets plus the belgrade pike derby woohoo i just had surgrey but ill b out both days my son will b drilling the holes lol about time he does something dad does his holes all the time but i love fishin with my kids even if we dont catch anything its my time with them

I think there's a few places south a way's too, I think either Dag's or Stones usually sells them in Auburn, lewiston area.

yea ill be out and actually not to far from you guys i plan on trying at a friends camp on crawford on sat and he invited me over to watch the race this weekend. im not a big nascar fan so ill probably spend most of the time on the ice. ill have my radio on ch 7 so gimmie a shout.

There is a derby on crowell pond in new sharon/vienna/chesterville  100 bucks for the biggest brookie and plenty of prizes for the young ones.. hope to see some iceshanty members there... its to raise money for the k-5 school..

Did I miss the Great East derby.I thought it was right around this time of the year.They must have finally put the kabosh on the bass derby at Bonny Eagle pond.It was fun but very depressing to see all those big fat bass iced.
