MDH...I'm glad my wife does not frequent this site or else I'd be in the doghouse or should I say "bob-house" if she saw your post.

Are these pics from this year already?  If so, how'd you do?  Any good reports coming in out there?  We just booked camps at River Bend and Leighton's for Feb. 10 & 11.  Getting excited to make the annual trip up.  Anybody gonna be around?
No not this year yet, they just started putting shacks on River X.  Hoping to get it on this weekend!!

Went to Bakers for the incoming. The bite was pretty slow but picked up a bit towards the top of the incoming. Did manage about 50, all bagged up for bait.

I am coming up to Worthington's from RI this upcoming Friday night for the 1715 tide, the 0000 tide and maybe the 0530 tide if I am still awake.  PM me for getting together.

They said they just got on this past Monday, so we'll see.

Went to Bakers and hit the 0117 tide this morning. My side of the shack was red hot. Kimballs side was dead it was rather weird how that worked. Brought home 100 smelt for myself and gave Kimball and his cousin alot of smelt maybe like 40 to 50.

niBIGFISH, could you please tell me what type of blue and silver metal jigs that you use?  I have tired everything, like Swedish Ps, etc and cannot do a darn thing.  I am starting to think that I not jigging them correctly.  On all of my jigs I put a hook about 10 inches above, have not had much luck to date.  Please provide you tips.  thanks

little-cleo.....small cast masters.....remember to put a small 1/4 inch peice of worm and set at different depths.....most of your smelt will come from between 2-8 feet...90% will be around 6 feet deep....and dont jig them to much....let them sit there with a bobber....and give em a jig every couple minutes or so.....to much jigging will just send them away....they just like to see it sitting there or dancing in the current....i allways bring a 150 watt light bulb with me and switch it out as soon as i get in the shack and then wrap some aliminum foil around it so all the light is going straight down, thats for the incomming tide.......on out going start close to bottom n slowely move up....i start  with 5 -7 jig poles in all different depths then adjust accordingly  to where the fish r biting......remember fresh bait.... dont let ur bait sit in the water all night....change it often so its juices r flowin in the water.... :)

Thank you very much for the information, hopefully I will be able to give it a try next week.  I have fished 4 tides this year and have not done well...2 night outgoing and 2 night incoming.  I have been fishing James Eddy, I hear that Leightons has had some good runs this year???  Not sure that is the word on the street.

has anyone caught anything other than smelts??  I know there are some big browns in the Kennebec, not sure how far down they run but i gotta imagine with these smelts running, there's gotta be predators following????

Yes they supply the lines and hooks all set up. Wood stove is usually going, bait the hooks and fish! But you can also rent their "Spring Boards" for like an extra 5$. If it's slow, try some of your own lures.

Hit Worthings last night on the 5:30 incoming tide. 5 of us and not so much as even a hit. Tried a few house lines, jig boards and jig sticks....Nada
Report at the end of the night was one shack got 10 and that was the most of anybody. :(
