Livinbass was there today caught a grand total of 21 smelts using jig rods and electronics.  Not much activity on the graph.

nope but every year when i pop my shack loose at the end of the season theres basically a 4x8 hole.  not really that big but close the race hole and warm air inside the shack tends to mess with the ice.  You're on jacking above the hole.

Wondering where you go for best bets on catching the most smelt on house rigs this season.  We're heading up in early FEB and want to slay 'em.  We usually do pretty well at Leighton's.

Yesterday , when I made my reservation for Bakers, the woman told me that they will be having Family Days every sunday.  If I remember correctly, she said that the first person is $10 and the rest in the family is $5 a piece.  In addition, they will have a professionally maintained ice rink for the kids to skate on.  Thought it was a good way to introduce the wife and kids to smelting without the swearing and drunkenness typically found on the weekends and at night.

X2.  Sunday afternoons are the only time to bring the kids smelting.  Unless you want to answer questions like, "Daddy, that man must be sick, he is puking all over the place."  Or, "Daddy, what is that funny smoke I smell from the shack next door."  Or, "Daddy, won't that woman in the miniskirt be cold smelting?" :o

Here is my Favorite Smelt Camp on River X...

Are these pics from this year already?  If so, how'd you do?  Any good reports coming in out there?  We just booked camps at River Bend and Leighton's for Feb. 10 & 11.  Getting excited to make the annual trip up.  Anybody gonna be around?
