Sleeper Shanty Rentals
« on: Oct 14, 2017, 10:07 PM »
A couple friends and I would like to make another ice fishing trip to somewhere in Michigan. We would like to find a sleeper shanty to maximize our time fishing. I have looked but only info I have found is out of date or for other states. Is there anyone that rents sleeper shanties in Michigan? If not, we are considering Fletchers Pond as a different lake to try.

Thanks for the info. Called Lyman's at Houghton and checked it out. Guy said it sleeps four barely. Now I just need to get the guys to give me a couple options when they want to go.

If you do go to Houghton Lake, you could stay in shanty and have the others get a room in one of the several hotels around the lake.

I like using a room, then can go to Higgins up the road also.

We rented two sleeper shanties from Lymans about five years ago.  I thought there was plenty of room for 3 or 4 people.  I'd bring a couple of battery-operated fans to move air around in the shanty.  The top bunks were 120 degrees and the bottom bunks were 10 degrees.  It was about 15 below when we were there, though...

My son and I were looking at this one too. S'funny, Houghton Lake no where near Houghton (UP), also an intriguing destination. Saw an ad for pike fishing up there. Only a coupla hours from the Northwoods HQ.
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!
