ice shack help
« on: Jan 30, 2003, 07:48 AM »
pretty new to using a ice shack. built my own, just want to know how to make the shack,so i can see the bottom of the lake. Does the lake need snow cover? I fish in sourthern alberta, wind blows non-stop, no snow on lakes. Does it have to be black in the shack, no light . I have no idea any help would be great.

It helps to have a dark shack. Here in Minnesota you have to have windows unless you are spearing. If you are using tip-ups you can not monitor them without windows.

When I have been spearing in a dark shack it was like looking at a TV. You would be surprised how far down you can see.
