The DEC notified us of the age on the crappie..  The manager said it's over 12 yrs old..    amazing considering what that thing had to encounter in those years..

we put our share back..  We fish for crappie so we don'thave to pay $7 for a Friggin Fishfry..   and something like this ain't goin' back anyhow..  bottom line....  I C&R trout, bass, musky, pike, and everything else..  gotta keep something for the Friday fishfry.... oh yeah legal Eyes ain't going back either.  sorry..

i have never fished for crappy im a bit curious as to why is a  hot thing  there so small.  are they good eating or is it just because they are so plentiful?   how far north do they come its  all over the american site i almost think there more popular then walley?

nice crappie and walleye- i think crappie taste wonderful, but not as good as perch or walleye

Dad caught this one last Friday in NYS.  18 7/8" and 3.53 lbs...just short of a state record, dern it.  :-
