Rod help
« on: Jan 10, 2023, 04:01 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm in a bind here. I went out to do a little ice fishing this past Sunday using my Clam straight drop ultra light rod, another angler pointed out that I was missing bites because I was waiting for the tug. After slowly adjusting to sight fishing, I realized that my hand is not steady at times. This had me wonder, is there anything I can do to work around that problem? I had no problem using my Beaver Dam UL noodle rod and feeling the tug because the fishes were aggressive during the other outing :(

Sometimes you need to set the rod down into a holder or just a flat surface like a bucket.  All you need to do is look for any slight changes in the line or rather the line bend at the rod tip.  If your tip is sensitive enough yes your tip action.

Watching to see if the line is moving, like a small coil in it straightening out, I like using ice buster bobbers they show the slightest nibbles.
