how much ice till you put a 4-wheeler on the ice? also how much till you bring the shanty on?

The reason for 12 for the permi is the reflection from the sun melts the surrounding ice and can make it dangerous. You can go with less but be prepared to move it a couple times until there's plenty of ice.
